Groundhog season on the horizon. 23:16 - Oct 23 with 2271 viewsRhonddaSwans

When Alan is finally going to get booted ? The side we have should be smashing it the players we have should be doing so much better.
I have had enough of the negative style of play week in week out.
Alan is losing the fan base. I am not one to jump on the bandwagons of Sheehan out .
As we are clueless from the stands compared to our gaffer.
But god alive we have some serious talent here and it is going to waste.
If we played a fluid counter attacking system mixed into the high pressing game we would be impossible to play against.

Be honest since the forest win we have been utter garbage.
I just feel deflated pre season we were looking like challengers on paper to where we are now.

Sheehan has to evolve his style or move aside .
Can Idah play on the wing? VIP needs to start or we need two up top.

Is anyone else feeling this?

Sadly yes, and most people feel the same.
Its no different to the shite that's been served up the last 4 years.

Players also need a big kick up the arse, stop taking the easy option and show some responsibility.

We have made some decent signings but I'm not sure it's a top 6 side. Even so, we are looking awful and the poor style isn't attracting people back. Another defeat or poor quality draw on Saturday and it is P45 time

Yes, it’s groundhog season for sure. We’re even attacking like a Williams or Martin team now, though we don’t take as many risks at the back.

Idah on the wing is a non starter.

I don’t think he should be in the same team as Vipotnik. Yes, if we’re chasing a goal, but not from the start.

In the current formation, we’d lose a midfielder and get overrun. In a 352 or similar, I’d rather Widdell, Cullen Eom or even Inoussa or Benson behind the striker.

The defence is a shambles atm. Very poor.

Only conceded 11 league goals; only 5 teams have conceded less. Admittedly the woodwork has been our best defender of late. Thee against Leicester, twice at Southampton and another against QPR. We're riding our luck.
Our problem is in attack. Just one penalty to show for the whole of October so far. Only the 2 Sheffields and Blackburn are worse; ironically the 3 teams we beat. We seem frightened to shoot.

Agree
What has happened to the Alan Sheehan we had at the end of last season
We’re no better now than when Luke Williams was in charge, the same lack of ambition ,slow ,boring Football that had us so angry and frustrated
I’d love to think it will all change but sadly can’t see it happening with Sheehan in charge
Only question is how long will the owners tolerate it for

Lewis O’Brien has happened to him.

He hasn’t got a player in the middle who can receive the ball, turn and drive at defences. Yalcouye is probably the closest because he wins 40/60s higher up the pitch but doesn’t yet have the composure or vision O’Brien did. Without that, we’re only really attacking down the flanks and only really Inoussa (maybe Benson when he’s fit) can beat players. Very easy to defend.

We haven’t seen enough of Widdell, but he looks to have the tenacity and his first thought is always to go at people. There must be a reason he’s not playing, I just don’t know what it is

We’ll have to disagree on this one.

In my view he’s at least as technically good as O’Brien, but he’s not as robust and he’s certainly not as abrasive. He doesn’t win tussles then burst through gaps causing defences to lose their shape.

I think if he was very similar to O’Brien, we’d still be attacking through the middle. Sheehan doesn’t stop Yalcouye doing it.

He hasnt been given the chance to do all that, if he had he would be better as he has better close control of the ball, he does win challenges and he is as strong, you need to watch him play for his country, you would see how strong he is and how he should be utilised for his club.

You may be right, I haven’t seen any of his Northern Ireland.

There’s no way on earth Sheehan would stop Galbraith playing like O’Brien did when that was an important part of what made us successful. I’m not buying he’d abandon something that worked for something that doesn’t because his assistant told him to.

This myth that O'Dea has arrived and has so.much influence over Sheehan to edfext the change from last season has to stop

By the same arguement it can be said the attacking football we witnessed durimg Sheehans caretaker spell post Williams was down to Fotheringham....

Agree. He’s had about as many games this season as last season now and there’s a huge difference.

I think not attacking through the middle is a big part in why we score so few goals, but I think he should have found a way of doing it with the players he’s got.

Definitely, we have the players to play the way we played last season but he doesn't have them doing it, baffling.

Perhaps but even so you would like to think that sheehan would revise how we played the back end of last season.

Fotheringham being the reason we did well last season is just as much as a guess as O’Dea being the reason we are struggling now though.

It’s not as if Sheehan is just a puppet and his assistants actually run everything.
