Never fail to be disappointed with myself when I read threads like this. I neither remember the scorer, nor the score or the opponent come to that.I think my first visit was in 1969/70, as I cannot recall the stadium not having the SAR, but fck knows!

You’re not the only one mate.I think my first game was in oct 1970,but I don’t know who it was against or the score.I remember it was pre decimal days and quite sunny and warm,so in was pre feb 1971,and being quite warm meant it was probably late Sept or oct 1970.The bloke who took me has been dead about 40 years,so it’s too late to ask him.
I couldn’t afford the 7d for a programme or the 10d for the one with the football league review in it,so it will always be a mystery to me.

I do remember my elder children’s first game was against 2-1 win against Oxford because the temperature was about 95c and my son almost got sunstroke.I think that was about 1996.

If the OP means who scored the first QPR goal you saw live then mine was Frank McLintock vs Arsenal at home, Easter Monday April 19th 1976.

3-1 win

Mine was a Francis Benali own goal 🤦‍♂️ in the 3-0 win against Southampton in 95/96.

Kevin Gallen got the 3rd that day - it would be whoever got the second for the first QPR player I saw score!

Hadn't seen that before X'y, ta.

We'd had a pretty torrid time at the Stamford Bridge fixture, fair bit of agg on the North Stand terrace during the first half, again when leaving the ground going down the walkway and also outside Fulham Broadway station.

Another for Don Givens.

3-0 at home to Manchester United on 1 January 1974. Stan Bowles bagged the other two as we handed out a lesson to United.

In addition to this match being my first for QPR, it’s more notable for being George Best’s last for United.

Clive Allen start of the 1979-80 season at home to Leicester City who beat us 4-1
Consolation penalty at the Loft end when it was a large terrace (before there were seats)
Crowd was 13,091

Leicester went up as Champions
We finished 5th

Can someone please remind me where the excel spreadsheet of our results and team by match per season can be found - I have mislaid it.

Cheers,
James

I had to look this up in my old programmes otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue...

Bowles penalty in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham 26th December 1978.

I had been to three previous games where we hadn't scored. Needless to say we were relegated that season (along with Birmingham and Chelsea).

Was that a Friday evening fixture? Easy because United were playing safe, if I recall correctly their next fixture was a cup final.

Tony Ingham Testimonial match. QPR played an England WC squad XI and won 5-2 with Marsh getting a hat trick. That was when I became a glory hunter fan.

Have you replied to the correct post Boston?

As was stated, this match was on New Years Day & United were relegated that season. I think it was the first year that NYD fixtures were played unless it happened to fall on a Saturday.
