Here it is the matchday thread in front of people at last, where people normally go when these games take place with no people is anyone’s guess. To the toilet ? British Home Stores ? C&A ? Debenhams? Dereks Records? It’s all here the game against Prestonpans is here.
Joshua Smith, nee tree, will be the referee when Swansea City host Preston. The Bedfordshire official is taking charge of the Swans for just the third time, having had the whistle for the home meeting with Stoke and the trip to take on Fulham earlier in the season. So it was his fault then. Smith began refereeing in the EFL during the 2019-20 season, and was promoted to Championship duties last term.He will be assisted by Sam Lewis and Jonathan Hunt, nee 😂 while Leigh Doughty is the fourth official.
People called Preston
Preston Robert Tisch (April 29, 1926 — November 15, 2005) was an American businessman who was the chairman and–along with his brother Laurence Tisch–was part owner of the Loews Corporation. From 1991 until his death, Tisch owned 50% of the New York Giants football team and shared ownership of the team with Wellington Mara. Preston is dead now like a lot of people are, his brother Lawrence has a name on his house where he just lays around. You can only get in with a skeleton key. Preston’s brother lives behind this plaque
Preston the bloke called Preston : Age 40, His name is Sam. Non descript nonsense singer called Preston was in the ordinary boys, who were a band apparently. He fell off a balcony once and found out anyone who goes on big brother is a complete and utter knob ( male and female) Lived in America, he has done nothing for years, has a fork lift licence, and if he hasn't he should have. Preston isn’t dead but will be one day. Preston when he had a guitar

Cyrus is far more impactful than Laird, so far.
Solid going back, dynamic going forward, bags of intelligence and clever know how
.
.
And bang on cue, Grimesy drives the length of the pitch to release dynamic Cyrus to almost bend into the top corner, with his left foot

Dirty baddas. Why did the ref not let play on. He hasn’t been good.
Ref is typical of many of them no passion for the game probably never played the game and learnt the game from a book and in the classroom and taken the option pf a career in Referring.
This where having Cabango at the heart of our defence is reassuring. Bodies on the line stuff.

Poor Keith, summed up by the throwin at the end no urgency or endeavour, Ntcham trying to do to much with the ball, Piroe not getting a look in Christie looking our best bet of creating somin, but again he's being double marked, Grimes being Grimes, Down's nullified by being played far to deep.
Anyway I feel a beer is on the horizon

I thought Downes had a great game, MOTM for me, closely followed by Christie.

thought Naughton played a blinder today Cabango was great..Christie immense. Too much sideways passing first half when the options of a chip ahead or forward ball available.....purple patch after the goal then it was hearts in mouth stuff towards the end...what was that all about bringing on Fulton

Get Smith off ffs, he's doing my head in.
Another rotten game. Not just wastefulness on the ball, but stropping and jogging back instead of sprinting.
Dominated the ball most of the game, made ourselves look good and them rather average, but a very narrow win in the end. If they'd made the most of Hamer's gift, and the ref hadn't stopped the game to book Manning when they were clean through, might have been a very different feel about it. Started the second half on the back foot and the goal felt a bit against the run of play, but we had a very good period after that. Christie started to get involved (we had almost nothing down the right all first half, Cabango's long ball into the channel the only move of consequence).
Vital to win after such a poor run though. Could see the nerves and desperation when hanging on last 10 minutes.

Our base was excellent today. Apart from the one hashed clearance straight to the Marvin Emnes wannabe we had no brain farts at the back that has been costing us lately. Christie is a very good signing and gives a real physical presence in both defence and attack. Cabango looks ten times the player now he isn’t been left exposed by laird. Manning brilliant again. Flynnidine and Grimes linked up a lot better today too. Grimes noticeably further forward when we were out of possession which helped our pressing game.
Only gripe I’d have is creatively we offered little again. I think smith and Ntcham are wasted playing in the positions they are and we desperately need a left sided player to replace Lati who did fine but again doesn’t fit the role.
Joseph showed a lot of promise too. All in all a good day.

Good points We have enough quality to be way above our current position
Joseph should never have been loaned out.He was our first signing for goodness sake.
