With the football season coming to a close in a months time, some here will turn their attention to the smell of freshly mown grass and long days sat in the hot sunny weather watching the great game of cricket.

As a member of Kent Cricket Club, I got to enjoy my first match of the season against Somerset at Canterbury over the last few days. Unfortunately, as is always the way starting the season this early, the first day was lost to rain. In fact nearly all the games were affected by rain, some without a ball even being bowled.

But I did manage to get to see 2 centurions at Canterbury yesterday and a very enjoyable day of cricket (even if I did get sun burned head - Yes I know should have taken a cap).

Did anyone else get to see cricket over the last few days? I know we have several Middlesex supporters who no doubt enjoyed the 'runfest' at Lords (over 1300 runs I believe)

I'm the same opinion re Brooks. I still think his decision in that last test v India cost us the series... he should have brought us home instead of playing that pull he did

Funnily enough it seemed everyone blamed Bethell.... but I thought the lad was on an hiding to nothing ....

Last night again, run out, when it was an impossible run...

A friend of ours is doing the Barmy Army tour of Aus... the whole series, looks fantastic... including playing games... Still 20k plus wants to be

You can do the tour yourself much cheaper than the Barmy army tours cost.I booked both test in New Zealand a couple of years ago for 1/2 the price that they were charging.
I’m not sure about organising a trip to Pakistan or South Africa myself, but New Zealand and even India last year were pretty easy.
And it’s very easy to get dragged along by the crowd and tour organisers to spend a lot more than you need to.

Incredible innings.. Salt unbelievable... 300 + .... think that might do it lol

They hit so many boundaries, the highlights just became completely repetitive !

Amazing innings from Salt and Buttler, what a total for a T20. Better than so many of the old ODI totals.

Who would want to be a bowler ?

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Oh dear How sad Never Mind

Congrats to Notts - So nice to see this years honours being spread about

Feel for Hants after 2 unsuccessful finals this year too

On a side note - Went to watch Upminster CC v Essex XI for Nick Browne's testimonial on Sunday - T20 match and great to see so many kids involved during the intervals.

Also, Upminster had 2 women in their side and were better than some of the guys

Anyway, now for the Womens World Cup and the Ashes - Going to be a busy winter

As a Hants supporter tomorrow will definitely be squeaky bum time. Totally let Surrey off the hook today.
