Cricket 2025 County/International Thread 13:39 - Apr 9 with 106763 views | Superhoops2808 | With the football season coming to a close in a months time, some here will turn their attention to the smell of freshly mown grass and long days sat in the hot sunny weather watching the great game of cricket. As a member of Kent Cricket Club, I got to enjoy my first match of the season against Somerset at Canterbury over the last few days. Unfortunately, as is always the way starting the season this early, the first day was lost to rain. In fact nearly all the games were affected by rain, some without a ball even being bowled. But I did manage to get to see 2 centurions at Canterbury yesterday and a very enjoyable day of cricket (even if I did get sun burned head - Yes I know should have taken a cap). Did anyone else get to see cricket over the last few days? I know we have several Middlesex supporters who no doubt enjoyed the 'runfest' at Lords (over 1300 runs I believe) [Post edited 4 Apr 13:14]

Cricket 2025 County/International Thread on 14:37 - Aug 4 by dm97 | Don’t get me wrong Swann is clearly better - but Emburey’s record in Australia (35 wickets at 32) is pretty good. If Bashir averages 32 this winter I’d be amazed (and pleased!) |
Wow, didn't know that. Yes if Bashir averages that and plays all the tests we may bring home the urn!

Cricket 2025 County/International Thread on 13:40 - Aug 4 by TheChef | Er Middlesex thanks! Nice try with the selectors attempting to shoehorn in as many Surrey players as possible for this one Didn't quite work out. Ifs but and maybes, but a few more runs in the first innings and a fit Woakes probably would have made the difference. Ah well, Test cricket you gotta love it. |
Sorry Chef, my bad I would say the selectors Surrey choices did indeed backfire. I disagree though re the first innings. Had our bowling been tighter across the 2 innings we would have won. Lets take that Tongue over for example. Without that over we would have won. But yes very true, if's, buts and maybe's

But with all the drama going on at HQ the recent Australian 50 over score seems to have gone under the radar the other day against South Africa. Australia had struggled in the earlier one day matches but on Sunday they hit 431/2 in 50 overs with Marsh, Head and Green (their top 3 batsmen) all hitting centuries. In fact Cameron Green hit his 118 off 55 balls. Amazing score for a 50 over match
