With the football season coming to a close in a months time, some here will turn their attention to the smell of freshly mown grass and long days sat in the hot sunny weather watching the great game of cricket.

As a member of Kent Cricket Club, I got to enjoy my first match of the season against Somerset at Canterbury over the last few days. Unfortunately, as is always the way starting the season this early, the first day was lost to rain. In fact nearly all the games were affected by rain, some without a ball even being bowled.

But I did manage to get to see 2 centurions at Canterbury yesterday and a very enjoyable day of cricket (even if I did get sun burned head - Yes I know should have taken a cap).

Did anyone else get to see cricket over the last few days? I know we have several Middlesex supporters who no doubt enjoyed the 'runfest' at Lords (over 1300 runs I believe)

Nervous?

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Just said on TMS that the last time England lost a test needing less than 50 when the fifth wicket fell was 1902...

Disgraceful decision and we lost a run as well

What an amazing turnout by the crowd today. Certainly getting their moneys worth. 😬

Bethell's idiotic shot was the turning point in this innings.

What a Test, what a series. Fair play to Woakes, fair play to India.

A lesson for England surely, once you've Bazballed opposition into submission - rein it in a bit.

But....fair play.

Brilliant series. Draw probably a fair result.

Great series... India definitely deserved something from it.. with their stats...

Still think that we lost this with the Brook dismissal

What a thrilling and compelling Test series. Neither side deserved to lose it.

Lap of honour? Someone should tell the Indians they drew the series, they didn't win it!

Brook and Bethell. More Bethell for me, as Brook managed a ton, which alongside Root, got us to the cusp of victory.

I agree, based on the stats for the series being largely dominated by Indian players: batting and bowling, India merited the drawn series.

Credit to both teams who have clearly demonstrated that this form of cricket is nowhere near dead. Even more so when one takes into the account the ridiculously narrow schedule/window in which the five matches were played. All because of something called 16.4. Well done both teams.

Key moment was Dawson dropping the sitter off Jaiswal. Dawson arrogant and a bit of a cheat…
Good series though.

This has really ruined my day! Seeing a majority Indian crowd, silence when Overton those boundaries. And that umpire call was just disgusting. Urgh.. bethell didn’t need to charge down the wicket, he had Joe Root at the other end seeing the ball clearly.. fair play to Siraj though, so annoying.
Looking forward to Lords on Sunday for the Middlesex one-day cup game

Lap of appreciation in respect of the thousands of India fans who have come out in huge numbers to support their team all summer, and giving an opportunity to the fans to thank their players for the tremendous performances throughout the series and what a series it has been. Test cricket is far from coming to an end.
