No, that wasn’t one of Briatore‘s first signings.

Just beat Liechtenstein for their first ever competitive win.

That's a bit of a classico, ins't it ? San Marino - Liechtenstein. Or what would you call a battle of two minnows ?

I was sure a Haddock would bite at the sight of minnows.

Geez, he might have rubbed it in a little more. No matter how bad it gets for Lichtenstein football, there’s always further to fall.

Actually this is why the Nations League is a brilliant innovation . One 1-0 scrap is worth any number of lucrative 10-0 stuffings.

Missed the opportunity to read out a list of famous Liechtensteinians and top it off with "your boys took a hell of a beating", though.

Possibly the last time they went in front in a game was when they played against England when they scored seven seconds after kick off.

That made me laugh so much at the time.

I was laughing and cheering because at that time England were particularly average.

Poor old Graham Taylor, that was the icing on a particularly nasty tasting horse shit sandwich, and as far as his reign as England manager went.

He'd also lost to the USA that summer and had the rather undignified defeat in Rotterdam at the hands of Ronald Koeman, and the press were all over him.
