QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread 12:27 - Dec 19 with 26010 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | OK, here we go again, match thread 4! Does it feel like we have been playing Preston for an eternity? Will John Inman be crying into his Cosmopolitan at the end of the game? Will QPR continue to grind out the wins to keep us all in the Christmas spirit? The Ancient Alien Astronaut theorists say 'YES' again! A week off, key players back, and a 3pm KO. Preston also 1 win in 11, I think, but loads of draws. 2-0 Rangers (if we turn up). QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 11:12 - Dec 20 by DannyPaddox | Great knowledge - I’d heard of Glossop and Dundee but Farnborough is a new one on me. There’s also a North End FC - from Glasgow (?) but they could be called Northend FC - not 100 % on them. Glossop North End had one season in Division One in 1898/99 (pre-VAR!) which makes Glossop the smallest town to be represented in the top flight. |
Alas I think Northend AFC are no more but I think there is a North End FC playing in Glasgow. Isle of Arran based Northend Thistle FC another one that maybe no more? Once labelled Britain's worst team after going 19 years without a victory. When they did finally win a match their players reportedly went on a week long p!ss up to celebrate. They played in the same colours as Barcelona and their ground the ‘Ewe Camp’ was listed as one of ‘British football’s greatest grounds’ in 2020. [Post edited 20 Dec 14:46]

QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 00:25 - Dec 20 by SydneyRs | The winning when playing poorly thing is a sign of a good team when applied to teams that mostly win games but have the odd bad/average performance and still manage to get over the line regardless. The sort of teams that win things (or go close) while grinding out a few ugly results along the way. None of the above is relevant to modern day QPR. |
The old chant "One nil to the Arsenal" under George Graham. But you saying teams that grind out results despite appalling performances. And say its not relevant to QPR. Well, you could say the last game against Bristol City, we actually did exactly that. First shot on 65 minutes after 15 to 20 attempts from the opposition and we score with a fifty yarder.... Hopefully on Saturday, we win with a good performance but a win with a poor performance is perfectly ok by me !!! [Post edited 20 Dec 18:00]

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/fans-fury-qpr-charge-38-5126788 Why are them 400 odd in the Preston allocation then? Or are the ones in the corner the 'diabolical views' while the others are just deemed restricted? We've certainly flogged the evilly awful ones in the past (see above link) - does anyone know when this policy changed (if it did)? [Post edited 20 Dec 18:21]

Great - why not go away and have a w*nk over old Arsenal videos then? Fortunate unbeaten mini-run or not, Marti needs to start shaping up, and his team to start treating the fans with some respect (those who actually care about watching a team that tries to playt football at least). It's extraordinary how little criticism he and the team have had since Oxford and Bristol, partly masked by plausible results. Better teams at QPR have been booed for far less. Weird angry response from yourself there stainrod - not like you !!! Was using Arsenals one nil winners as an example - cant say I said I like it anywhere.... I think people obviously would prefer winning with style and passion. Clearly we all want that but if the results are there and we play poorly we all would accept that over having moments in games but still ultimately losing. I didnt say that was what i wanted and yes we have had a decent run of results without playing that brilliantly at all, but clearly sometimes that is ok as we had only one win in first seventeen. If you not happy with QPR victories then perhaps try out tiddlywinks - perhaps a more aptly named focus for yourself Stainrod !!!!!!! You could start a forum espousing its niceties - like you do !!! QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 08:32 - Dec 21 with 2013 views | SherryHoop | Hoping for more than 40% possession, a clean sheet and a goal. I would love a better performance but for now points are what matters as Marti builds a style that works with these players. 1-0 to the Rs - Saito to score a very popular goal, curling one into the corner and smiling a lot after.
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 09:49 - Dec 21 with 1913 views | Dorse | Got a good feeling about this one. We've become tricky to score against at a time when we usually go pants-on-head crackers. We might see Frey and Chair at some stage, Paal might get the nod over Ashby on the left and Kolli is unlikely to still have the plague - I guess I'm saying that this week's options might be a bit more positive than last week. Or we might go full dumbass and play 2-0-8 with rush goalies and Fox as striker.

Wouldn't work here though as we pronounce ewe as 'yo' My nephew is an Ag Advisor and spent years working with sheep farmers around Aberdeen. Came home just before Covid and took a fair bit of stick for his 'posh' pronunciation of 'yo'

QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 11:45 - Dec 21 with 1700 views | loftboy | We will win today, I missed Norwich as my mother in law went to hospital, I actually got in the ground for Oxford but was summoned home before kick off as my mother in law passed away, it going today as still helping my wife through her heartbreak. Last time I saw us win was at Cambridge! I am going to Norwich next week then most of the home games and a few more aways so we will see if I really am a jinx! Bear in mind the first Manchester United away game I missed in ages was New Year’s Day 1992.
