We love our former U's, well most of them anyway, so thought I'd start a thread where we can keep up with them.
Thought I'd kick things off with a happier moment for Matt Jay in Essex as he scored a long ranger against Chelmsford at the weekend. It wasn't a joyous return though as Torquay shipped two late goals to lose 3-2 after leading 2-0.
Following a disastrous debut for Plymouth Argyle at home to Barnsley, in which Brendan Wiredu scored an own goal, was partly at fault for Barnsley’s second, got booked for a scuffle and was subbed at half time, he has had to shut down his social media accounts following a torrent of abuse from the local six-fingered freaks. So much so, the club has had to issue a statement telling the yokels to pack it in.
I see Brendan Wiredu scored for Plymouth Argyle as they came from 2-0 down to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2 in the Carabao Cup first round!
I wonder if he gave the Plymouth fans the old 'Duguid salute' that they deserved after he scored!

Let's hope so eh? Deplorable behaviour from their fans towards him. He's a good player and a decent lad too. You do wonder what goes through their head. I'm pretty sure no player has ever performed better after being abused by their own "fans".
Experienced striker Macauley Bonne has left Southend United following the expiry of his contract.
The 29-year-old former Leyton Orient, Charlton, QPR and Gillingham player scored five goals for the Shrimpers last season to help them reach the National League play-off final.

5 Goals per season, I expect that return from a centre half . A striker needs to be around the 20 goals per season. Col U do have a knack of finding non scoring strikers!
After forcing a move to Gateshead last season Frank Nouble would come back to haunt one of his many former clubs as Gateshead fought back from 3-0 down at half time to win 4-3 at Yeovil with a 99th minute winner. Nouble scored Gateshead's second goal and provided an assist for the winner.
Brad Ihionvien has joined League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan from Peterborough United
And scored on his debut last night.
Not sure what's gone on at Peterborough. Ferguson has been very vocal that Ihionvien wasn't working out and wanted him gone and then started him up front by himself in the first four league games, and brought him on in the fifth. He's now been shipped out to Shrewsbury with Ferguson implying his Peterborough career is over once again. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson's time at Peterborough ends before Brad's!
Former Premier League striker Connor Wickham is eyeing a Football League deal after being released by Charlton Athletic in 2024. Wickham, who has played in the top-flight and has FA Cup experience, is waiting for potential offers after training with League Two Bromley. Despite interest from non-league clubs, the 32-year-old is determined to continue his career at a higher level.
I see Gavin Massey recently signed for Bury (the one up north). I became aware of this as there's a news story that he didn't realise he was sent off in his last game before joining Bury, so Bury have been penalised for giving him his debut
