Ah, obviously this was a bit too oblique.

The joke was that his pass completion rate for the spectators in the stands he passed to was exemplary.

Ah, gotcha!

He was a f*cking awful passer of the ball, dreadful at set pieces and criminally overrated by many.

The only reason he was a Premier League player was because of his mouth and because he ran about a lot earlier in his career.

One of the best bits of management Dyche ever did was putting him on a leash with a year contract so he actually played defensive midfield with the carrot of prem football, then immediately binned him when they went up

I'm still waiting for him to take 1,000 penalties with his left foot against Mary Earps and score every one of them, as he claimed he could.

Utter scumbag. Hate the fact our name is always mentioned with him.

"I'm still waiting for him to take 1,000 penalties with his left foot against Mary Earps and score every one of them, as he claimed he could".

Having witnessed the "quality" of his set pieces, I reckon Mearps could sit in a deckchair in the centre circle and read "War and peace" while Barton vainly attempts to put the ball into an empty net.

He had some good games for us when he stuck to what he was good at, being a defensive midfielder, but:
- He was nowhere near as good as he thought he was
- He disrupted the dressing room
- He costs us points every season thanks to the mindless red cards he picked up
- He was a violent, nasty individual.

I too wish we had never signed him.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The same wife who made a police report then retracted the allegations, then apparently unretracted them. Her game seems to be one of ambivalence, as often seems to be the case for women in passionate/rough-house relationships. Lee Chapman and Lesley Ash were another such couple, if memory serves.

Nasty though Barton clearly is when his blood's up, and kicking anyone in the head, let alone your own wife, is clearly horrible, they sound to me like a drunkenly co-dependent pair who probably deserve each other.

Stainrod, your football opinion often baffles me but I know we don’t need to agree on that and that’s the beauty of a forum. But this and some of your borderline racism in other threads shows the man you are. Shocking

You're wasting your time trying to pick him up on things like this, Fella.
Apparently none of us have the requisite level of intellectual sophistication to appreciate his superior point of view.
According to him, this is "poetic"!
Not sure that would be my chosen word, but hey-ho, apparently I'm clearly wrong...

What - you mean a critically minded, educated citizen whom you happen not to agree with? I guess I can see how that might disturb you.

Useful as an opportunity for people to show you who they are though.

I don't really believe people 'are' essentially anything, for what it's worth. We're all a seething mass of contradictions, and most of us are as good/bad as anyone else.

Can’t say I have sympathy for Lucy Connolly bearing in mind where her comments went and what happened after it but mental violence gets less than inciting it.

As someone else said, feels like a lottery.

Then again, any of us could end up on a jury, and one of us thinks Barton’s wife deserved it so perhaps society could share some blame and we should remove jury trials.

And why wiuld you assume that Terry's never read Strindberg, or is it only yourself on this Forum who has (in your not so humble opinion) who has the intellectual sophistication to grapple with his texts?

Of course, whether anyone would want to read anything by him is another issue entirely😂

Your last line says it all! Strindberg was a bitterly/corrosively honest genius, whose post-Strinbergian legacy is currently being staged by my friend Mike at Skipton Little Theatre for those posters with theatrical taste. A fantastic antidote to wokeists everywhere.

'Borderline racism', eh? I'll leave that remark where it deserves.

Mind you, like Madonna, it's always better to be on the borderline/margins, which is where you see more.

Crikey a total lack of care and consideration for a woman vulnerable to an obvious abuser in your statement there Stainrod.

Domestic abusers can make the partner accept things that they really really shouldn't but their brain turns to mush in such situations and many can't see the bigger picture because they become totally controlled by the abuser.

But you saying the woman deserves it.

Wow. Horrific analysis there

Woke agenda

Blimey

I was in disagreement with you that a girlfriend of Joey Barton didn't deserve s kick in the head. Hardly woke agenda

I have said the odd strange thing i admit and sometimes upset some but I do try to readdress it if I have been out of line for whatever reason.

You just attack anyone and have massive belief that you are always correct and right in all that you do and how you react on here.

It's generally good to be decent to folk when you can and more people tend to like us, when we open to all sorts of decent people

It's very hard to understand yourself,as you seem to have hatred for many on here, who simply state their opinions and you start throwing random abuse.

Just to remind you Stainrod this is a site where I would say we all have differing opinions and that's all good but you can never see this, you just start attacking people with all sorts of nastiness.

I am amazed to be honest you have not been banned

You have zero regard for others on here and we all have the same interest in our team. We are together.

But the vitriol you fire at all random on here, is pretty awful really.

I won't bite at all because you get off weirdly on this here.

It doesn't really need to be said but you must try to remember all these people you randomly attack, are fellow Rangers fans.

I am not one to resort to name calling but this anger of yours is awfully misdirected.

Maybe look a bit closer to home !!

Anyhow i had a pleasant evening myself.

Good luck to you if you can consider a little at how you are portraying yourself then one day you might not need these angry rants and attacks, just because others don't abide to your ways of thinking

It's a lot easier to be grateful than hateful !!!!!

You've certainly described yourself pretty accurately there (for once), but I'm certainly less than impressed by you describing me as "seething".

Not everyone is as filled with as violent a desire to consistently show themselves as being intellectually superior as you clearly are..

A textbook example of (either wilful or ignorant) misreading. I said 'bitterly/corrosively honest'. To break it down for you, that's two adverbs plus an adjective. The adverb modifies the adjective, which is 'honest'. Does that help you with my actual meaning?

Not particularly, since the words "bitter" and "corrosive" are still an integral part of your description.
Adding the word "honest" doesn't in itself justify being bitter and corrosive, imho, though I can understand how someone who sees these words as having positive intent would feel that it does.

PS: If we're going to disagree on here - highly likely, I'd say - can we please just do so politely and respectfully?

If you're pointing the finger at me in this, Clive, (which given the timing of your interjection I have to assume you are) then fine, I'll be the "Bigger Man" and apologise.
That said, certain other person(s) on this site seem particularly keen to express forthright opinions on a regular basis in a manner that is "somewhat less than pleasant".

Considering, despite his misogyny & antisemitism, Strindberg's work clearly exposed the hypocrisy and conflicts of Victorian society including both class & sex, it seems odd to me you'd use woke in a pejorative sense.

Perhaps you should re-read "Miss Julie" and instead of accepting the premise that women are inherently evil, dependent & psychologically weak have a think about what might have led to this portrayal?
