One place I wouldn't want him move to is Man City. I think Guardiola would stultify him the same way he's done with Grealish, who I think isn't the player he was at Villa.

So Pep isn't very good now?? I thought the sun shone out of his expensive Arris? So all these coach's who worshipped at the alter of the Pep are now gonna have to change their tactics?? Good we might yet see 2 playing up top in my life time

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

Sort of ask the question why does Eze need to move from Palace, he gets paid well, enjoys his football they love him and he is winning England caps. If we look at how the rejections before QPR snapped him up and gave him a chance he probably relishes the stability and rise to being a top footballer. Obviously he has ambitions to win things and yes great if he earns a big move and we get a bonus, but it might just not happen, but I suppose we did get a good fee for him 5 years ago. In my mind I sort of hope that when he is in his thirties he comes back to QPR and finishes his career with us. Loved him in a QPR shirt, still like him in a Palace shirt to be honest, quality player all round and still one of ours.

IIRC, same kind of reasons why Matt LeTissier didn't move from Southampton. I think Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd were sniffing around as he was pretty much hot property at the time but any move never happened as I believe he was happy where he was.

You're correct.

I read an interview where MLT attributed his failure to get more caps under Venables and Hoddle was due to turning down moves to Spurs and Chelsea when they managed there respectively.

That said, a mate of mine was at a golf thing with Venables who said that at international level, if MLT was in the team, it would be like playing with 10 men when the oppo had the ball.

Appreciate the loyalty of Le Tissier, but would suggest his comfort where he was, meant that his ambitions were limited.

Decent and sublime skill at times but a move to a title challenger, i think he would have had limitations. Think he knew this also.

Fear in a similar way to Grealish, Eze would be decent but not outstanding.

If he was massively bothered about doubling his salary, I think a move could be engineered, but perhaps a la MLT, he is happy with his lot as things stand.

I think that's the beer more than Pep though

Yea, the party boy lifestyle that Jack lives by is something Pep is making him pay for by his non selection.

As we know Eze is a God fearing man and thus wouldnt need 'pulling down a peg or two.'

I don’t know if you’ve seen the 6”4 non tackling, non heading CM - but you wanna give the guys who signed him to play against Millwall, Oxford, Portsmouth and the rest more money to waste?

An Eze sale would amount to the biggest get out of jail free card since the Zamora moment. We deserve that, the board and data god-child don’t.

KDB moving on this summer and the rumour Gundogan is on his way also might be the ticket to Manchester City for Eze .
Jack Grealish has wasted 2 years of his career there and signing Doku was the clearest signal he will never be the top player there.
He should move on also IMO unless he just cares about money and not getting the most out of his talent

I suspect MLT also knew that he could rock up at 80% pace/effort at Southampton and be guaranteed a game week in week out but wouldn't get away with that at the top tier clubs

MLT tells a story of going to see Spurs about a possible transfer. Whilst he was there they showed him the next seasons kit.

He turned them down as he didn't like the prospect of wearing their new skin tight shirts.

Nothing to add of note to this thread other than to share that I had the pleasure of standing in the Hammersmith End at Rupertsville to watch Eze score his lovely finish and then his assist a few mins later. Standing there only half stifling my smug grin whilst my mates were, first spitting venom at Ebes as he celebrated in front of the Hammersmith end and put his finger to his lips and then knelt to give thanks and glory to the almighty- and then by the end of the game they were begrudgingly acknowledging what a great player he was.

It was nice to also be attending an FA Cup game beyond the 3rd Round too 😇

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?
