Rooney spouting incoherent rubbish on the B B C again. 18:15 - Mar 29 with 1659 views | saintmark1976 | Failed manager with Derby, Birmingham and Plymouth yet again he gets paid by the B B C to give rambling half time comments about tactics in a mumbling inaudible voice. What a waste of licence payers money. [Post edited 29 Mar 18:19]

Rooney spouting incoherent rubbish on the B B C again. on 20:52 - Mar 29 with 1489 views | LondonSaint76 | Agreed, Rooney is a total waste of space and should come complete with subtitles. If you think it is bad this season, wait until next season - the new head of sport that has opted to get rid of MOTD anchor Line-acre (as Mick Channon used to call him when on pundit duty) has decided it is time to freshen up MOTD. It has been hinted that we may have to suffer ‘celebrity guests’ as pundits which could prove to be more irritating than Rooney if that is possible. We will also have to suffer the gurning Kelly Cates, God help us. Don’t mind Gabby Logan who is also joining up but can’t stand Cates. Sounds like this new guy wants to apppeal more to the yoof and the millennials who simply DON’T WATCH the BBC in any significant numbers, if at all… Still, we will all be forced to migrate to streaming our TV by about 2035 as they are after the bandwidth for 6G. Could have been by 2030 but the current services got a reprieve. I think when it happens, that will be the point the BBC disappears up its own backside for good.

Agree, I hate the BBC and the news is awful. The day of the earthquake in Myanmar sums them up, they were saying "oh there has been an earthquake" whilst showing a video from a street with zero impact and then said "looks like it's all fine though, all the buildings look okay" A few hours later we see the real horror. Nah, fk them, awful channel - I'd love to not may a license fee.

Carol will tell you at 6am it’s going to be fine today and her graphics show it then you look out the window and it’s p!ssing down , they also will not mention the word snow as they think everyone will go into blind panic and it doesn’t fit there global warming ideas. Sky sports is also terrible, yesterday watching soccer Saturday I had to endure endless footage of Newcastle on their poxy parade. No one other than the grordies give a f()ck

I was paying over £100 / month for Sky and it’s related products and yet still have to endure numerous amounts of ad breaks and listen to the absolute epitome of ‘bias’ when it comes to Sky Sports. Perhaps I am simply old school and really enjoy more of the trad stuff ala Radio 2 and 6 etc.

110% re the fkng "parade". You'd think they'd won the quadruple the way they are going on about it. There was even a mention of a bloody statue of Howe alongside Shearer (who possibly does deserve one up there)! Have been up there a few times and great for a weekend (well was when I was younger just for the legs and t1ts), but since the Arabs came in you'd think they are the masters of the Universe or something! And as for the weather, I've got both Beeb and Met Office on the phone to compare and it's often chalk and cheese and guess which one is normally the more accurate | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I would be on the pïss for a year if we ever one a meaningful trophy so good luck to ‘em. The fact TV decided to spend hours broadcasting it is a different matter. Still, in two years time we might challenge a serious assault on the League One title…..

I say highlights but they are carefully selected pieces, then there's lets repeat the goal from several different angles highlights. Basically they show nothing worth watching!

That’s lightweight - I know a couple of Celtic fans who saw them win the European Cup in 67 and are still celebrating! Seriously, they go to Lisbon Lions reunions every year, bi-annually they go to Las Vegas where the American chapters of the supporters club literally take over a large casino / hotel for a week and the surviving players fly out there to take part in the reunion. Apparently they nearly drink the place dry

A mate of mine moved to NZ, and he always says that we take how good the BBC is for granted. Other countries are still in awe of it. It does offer a lot as well as television, with fantastic radio, BBC bitesize kids stuff (which actually helped me realise how kids are taught these days, in particular Maths, which is very different to how I remember). BBC Sounds is something I probably use most days as well. They don't get everything right as we know, and sometimes give too much airtime to voices that don't warrant it in their efforts to be balanced, but it is still well worth having

I see what you are saying, but also what some of the critics are saying as well. I think put in football terms the BBC is a game of two halves. Think their radio output is still fine. Likewise, I listen to R2 & 6 Music but where I think the problem lies with the TV output is between budget cuts and the insistance on doing the Wokey Cokey the ruins some output. They can still produce some excellent dramas and i-player and BBC Sounds always has something worthwhile to offer but I have to agree that the news output has fallen off of a cliff post Covid. I think the BBC TV output will really struggle once everything is pushed towards streaming only for 6G to take the existing broadcasting bandwidth by around 2035. I can’t see them being able to compete easily in that marketplace. [Post edited 30 Mar 15:20]

Rooney spouting incoherent rubbish on the B B C again. on 16:01 - Mar 30 with 859 views | Jellybaby | The BBC is toast, young people are not interested, it is irrelevant to them. The imposition of a mandatory license fee if you watch any TV is both outrageous and unenforceable. Those still tuning in are watching the final death throes of a media giant, maybe that is entertaining?

You're probably right about young people not watching it as we move forward with the times. As Wints76 pointed out its only when it's gone that people will miss it in my opinion. 140 quid a year , 4 TV channels, iplayer, 6 Radio stations..no adverts. I like listening to Radio 4 current affairs stuff as they'll have your typical leftie /liberal type for one interview and then get Nigel Farage or a member of the Trump team to provide counter arguments...I don't want to exist in an echo chamber hell of right wing /left wing Same as the a Palestine /Israel issue. I've noticed they've been criticised by both sides of bias! Surely that means they're doing their job right.

I am with you there. For around £3 a week I think it is really good value. All the other stations I look at have extremely boring advert breaks. People will have their own view as to whether their news programmes are biased but as there seems to be complaints from both sides of the political spectrum, I reckon they have the balance right. Problem is, going forward, the BBC doesnt seem to appeal to young whippersnappers who prefer other (darker??) mediums. Also the BBC dramas and documentaries, which cost a lot to produce, dont have the funding available to them compared to the likes of Netflix.
