Honest answer..... 21:05 - Apr 8 with 3007 viewsqpr_1968

would you be us, or brentford or charlton.....you know what i mean.

no one seems to want to go up to the premier for whatever reason.
but a few seem to not mind getting relegated down to league 1....for whatever reason....

or even stay where we are....16th.

you know what, i'm sick of all this mediocre shit.....lets try and win the league cup, even the quarter finals will do me....better still an fa cup run.

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

If when we got promoted to the PL in 2011 and we had the seasons Brentford have had we’d be absolutely chuffed to bits

I find the Premiership tedious to be honest. Yes, Brentford and Fulham are doing brilliantly and well done to them but would I want to be them? No.
No more than I would want us to be like Arsenal. And I'm currently watching them stuff Real Madrid with a swagger.
I think most of us just want us to be more competitive in this league and like you say have a tilt at the later stages of one of the Cups occasionally. But, both of these things seem a distant dream. We're more likely to end up like Charlton in League 1. I can live with that.
We're still a great club, (a big, small club) with fantastic support, a wonderful, old, atmospheric stadium like no other in England and we're situated in a wonderful location.
If we could just play a bit of decent football now and again with a team with a consistent line up that always gives it all, then I would be delighted. We're not that far away from that. In fact, even at the end of January that felt like a tantalisingly realistic prospect.

Just like us to be a really consistent strong Championship team able to hold our own at home (something that has been lacking for quite a few seasons), with the hope of one day progressing to the Premier league.

I think ill take being QPR thanks.

Only been to one game this season but I still enjoy going.

We seem to do well for 6 months then the annual collapse, it's very frustrating but "hey ho" that's QPR for you, and let's face it we wouldn't have it any otherway.

I like the way kids have got a chance of coming through with us and don't really give a sh*t about playing TV money teams at unreasonable ticket prices. So Championship for me but if League One then OK so long as players want to play for the shirt and football methodology is corret.

It's only tedious to those that aren't there

Tbf at the game just gone, was absolutely awful fare and I watched Arsenal tonight.

Clearly obviously would love to have that team, that stadium and that team but to say it's tedious, that kids no one.

So many games over the last few seasons we have been so poor and to say you think the prem is poor and tedious, it's a line no one falls for.

As others have said would we prefer to be where Brentford, Fulham, Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth are. The answer certainly would not be, no it's too tedious.

What is tedious is watching QPR phone in performances at home to Plymouth Portsmouth and others and thinking tonking Real Madrid is a load of old crock.

For me this rates as one of the most delusional of posts I have seen on here and then there have been plenty previously.

I might have scribed a few myself !!!

VAR, 100 million pound players, 50 + quid ticket prices, thousands of pounds for season tickets, the 'race for 4th place', bottom 3 promoted clubs effectivley relegated weeks before the end of the season, tourist fans galore, murderous club owners, endless entitlement and hysterical media hype, etc etc.

Not for me thanks. I find all of that tedious and disheartening. I'm not a fan of the modern football industry.

Where did I say that Arsenal beating Real Madrid is 'a load of old crock'?

The football Arsenal played tonight was outstanding . But, often it isn't. Have you ever had to listen to their fans endlessly moaning or to West Ham ones who are even worse?

I can't get excited about the rising 'middle class' of Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford all finishing mid table every year or watching City win another FA Cup or the billionaire Geordie journalist murderers picking up a League Cup.

If that makes me deluded, then so be it.

I'd rather be in Brentfords position than Charltons. But I wouldn't swap being QPR for anything. You stay in you're own lane. I like the challenge we have getting back to the Prem but it's just so frustrating watching us make the same mistakes every season and not get anywhere. I just want to see improvements.

If you remove the fact that it is QPR and we all support QPR then surely it can’t get much more boring or uninspiring than 10 years in the same division, almost exclusively low mid-table, almost no threat of the playoffs and no cup run. I’d suggest any of the teams mentioned would be a good swap.

I'm not hankering after the Prem. Even the likes of Man U or Chels fans seem no happier than we are unless they're actually winning leagues and trophies.

What I do hanker after is a bit of consistency combined with some golden moments. I want to be looking up the table rather than down. I want a few wins early doors. I want a season where our best players are available for selection most of the time. I'd like us to be in a position to be able to play our better players in cup games because we're safe and injury free. I'd like us to be able to try out our youngsters in games that aren't must-win. And I'd like a few thumping wins - 4-0 upwards - per season. I'd like a cup run to at least the fifth round and ideally further. Oh and I'd like Eze to go for tons of cash early in the summer so we're not having to sponsor the bog rolls.

Not impossible but seems it most of the last few years. There's still lots to like. We have a decent fanbase with lots of nice people and a burgeoning youth section - the recent support for Dave Thomas and the Tiger Cubs being excellent recent examples. We have a decent Board who back us and aren't sectionable. We have an amazing training facility. I like our ground. We have remarkable media support given our size: Paul Morrissey, Tyler and Andy do tremendous jobs; then there's a lot of fan content - Clive and Dave obviously outstanding; Hoopsa and Open All Rs podcasts clearly; but there are a number of other YouTube channels producing interesting QPR content. So lots to admire but please no more circling the drain in November and March please???

Well said. I loved the Warburton years. We generally played good football, Warbs dug the philosophy of our club and although the last few months were disappointing I always thought he would come up with a new plan. The Eze period was sublime. Football heaven. And the period a bit later culminating in the 4-0 defeat of Reading in January 2022 was just about as good as it gets. He also got us to the 5th round of the Cup for the first time in decades. Chair was breaking through as a bright young thing and Willock looked unplayable. It wasn't that long ago and maybe it can happen again?

Honest answer..... on 18:15 - Apr 9 with 1416 viewsManinBlack

The Eze period was the last time we had real quality in the side to rave about. Now we are dull and boring and totally nondescript like many other teams.

Of course I am envious of the teams who have sailed past us in recent times. There is no way anyone would rather watch the drivel served up against Cardiff while Fulham inflict Liverpool's first sway defeat of the season. While I accept VAR is rancid, so too is the standard of match officials in the Championship. Just look at Leeds two chalked off goals last night.

The crucial thing with the Premiership is you have to be ready for it and clubs like Wolves, Brentford and Villa were certainly that. If you go up unexpectedly like Luton and Ipswich then expect to come straight back down. The problem is behind the scenes we are still disorganised and not well run like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford. That needs resolving as the last two times we went up it was farcical behind the scenes.

I know there is no pleasure finishing every season in the bottom half of the Premiership but there is even less pleasure finishing in the bottom half of the Championship every season. Crucially no financial reward either in this league and consequently no quality in the team to excite the fans. With the parachute money in the Championship it already feels like we are up against Premiership sides who have the quality we cannot buy so this league is as imbalanced as the top one.

With you on that.
Trouble is we’re trying the Brentford/Brighton method of stats but that takes years of work and we’ll get fed up soon and go off in yet another direction.
Trouble is you do need a few old heads in this division to compete and we don’t really have that, Cook and Colback apart who are probably past it now (Colback especially although he played well on Saturday).

It's almost certainly rose-tinted but there's a bit of cool and soul to Rangers. Brentford has done brilliantly but has little historical substance (not that matters these days) and Fulham are just a cuddly team that are a bit like a nice harmless uncle you see once or twice on occasions but don't miss him when he's not there.

As a 38 year old, and having followed Rangers since relegation from the Prem in 96, I wouldn't swap those years and experiences that followed in that time for Brentford's. They've done well to establish themselves at the top table, but I wouldn't swap their recent success for our memories of winning the Championship with Warnock, the Aguero moment, Zamora Play Off Final at a packed Wembley, etc.

Fulham's a bit different, been in the top flight longer and am quite envious of their European cup run to the final in 2010.

Be Brentford? Well, if it's an option why stop there? Why not be Liverpool or Man City? Why not be Real Madrid?

I'll tell you why? It's a simple answer that I like to call C*NTS.

A bit of success would be nice but at the price of having to be Brentford? LOL f**k off, Lord. I'd rather have my eyes replaced with hot wasps. Nah, f**k all that.

I find it easier to have no expectations and to not really care whatever happens. If we go up, we'll eventually go down. If we go down, we'll eventually go up. We get past the first match in a cup? Who cares. Eventually someone good will f**k us right in the dad.

And then look at teams who were at our level. Palace, Fulham, Brentford. They've all done great but they've got no silverware for all their success. So what does it matter. Unless you do a Leicester in the league or win the FA Cup like Wigan, it's all for nothing. Like working down a mine your whole life and then dying of Emphysema on your last day.

To be honest, it's entirely ridiculous to want anything for QPR. If you're under 60, you have no memory of success with this club. Wanting us to be promoted, do well in a cup, sign good players, compete generally. It's just things. It's like wanting to win the Lottery or wanting to get abs. You're not winning shit and you're getting fatter every day. Fat, no lottery winning motherf*cker. That's what you are.
