Harsh, not even the worst game this month. Cardiff had two terrible teams, not one. I thought Colback played well, again, stood between us and a total swamping. [Post edited 22 Apr 21:29]

That’s my opinion from the outside looking in though. We’ll see

More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report on 22:18 - Apr 22 with 3401 views | GroveR | I used to think statements like "...no situation that cannot be turned into a pass back to Paul Nardi" were a bit OTT until yesterday. Then we got a corner toward the end of the first half that was half-cleared out to Ashby 10yards inside their half who did Swansea a solid by completely clearing it back to Nardi. It's anatomically impossible for me to stamp on my own bolloçks (for now, give it a decade and we'll see) but I came close to it on Monday.

Colback was ok again, I thought, in the main. Except - and this is not the first time we've seen this - watch him between 0:55 and 1:07. That's shockingly poor.

But I can feel your pain and frustration, which most of us are feeling in varying degrees , which it seems we always reach at this time of year . Yesterday’s match felt like a punishment . I’d say we’ve been punished enough. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They’re not getting into the playoffs and they’re not getting relegated. Perhaps they just enjoy their football.

More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report on 02:36 - Apr 23 with 2985 views | CLAREMAN1995 | Excellent report but very depressing section about our futility in trying to get consistant and push up the table. Funny thing about Fox you mentioned he was Swansea's best player in both games this year and he was Stokes best player as well he is just rarely QPRs best player and 3 OGs is very bad I am trying to count as I think this is the 4th ref in a row who was terrible and it appears the linesmen/women are not much better not that is a very bad sign of things in Football . QPR are just miserable in 3 game weeks the squad is not deep enough and there is enough blame to go around

Well as a midtable team with nothing to play for we're a good place to try out new referees they're not sure about, referees who need more Championship experience, or old twts they know are rubbish but still have lying around.

Absolutely. Like the wag in the Paddocks who when O'Brien dived, screaming for the umpteenth time, realized for once he wasn't getting a FK, smirked and ran off, said 'he is risen'. Great craic. Hope it was someone on here.
More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report on 07:48 - Apr 23 with 2685 views | Rangers67 | Great report Clive, sums up my feelings about the game perfectly. One of the main differences between the teams was the speed at which Swansea played and we couldn’t,t cope with it so I make them worthy winners. Our constant pissballing about at the back slowly really doesn,t help. However that must have been one of the most bizarre one sided refereeing performances I have ever seen
More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report on 08:16 - Apr 23 with 2597 views | londonscottish | That really was a grim watch. B&Q here I come. Edited to add; when I saw that Field was out again I remembered one of Jack Supple's stats about the points we pick up when he starts vs those when he doesn't. Not good. Then of course we've been lacking Chair for much of this campaign and Saito's now crocked (poor fella). Then I read about Smyth's ridiculous retrospective three match ban (WTAF??) and my heart sank further. And then Varnane got injured in the warm up. You couldn't make this stuff up. So I wasn't surprised that a lively and in-form Swansea were able to dominate for long periods. But it made it a hard watch. [Post edited 23 Apr 10:22]

All of that plus the lack of protests and appeals from QPR players when something might be given our way in a 50:50 or better. Marti puts more effort in with the fourth official than the entire team does most games. We must be a nice, soft touch and landing for the officials. Thanks for the report, Clive. Tough one to write I imagine. BTW - Was that a botoxed Fergie sitting in the directors’ box this week ? And was Paul Smyth playing Mario Cart on his phone with Saito, or just doom scrolling his socials and Mrs Smyth’s appeals ?

More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report on 08:46 - Apr 23 with 2497 views | thehat | Thank you Clive a very good read and summary of the afternoon. We all sighed in the pub when we saw the team never in a million years should Anderson and Madsen be in your starting eleven. Both are luxury players and it gives the initiative to the opposition to boss the midfield which is exactly what happened. We also broke up our good centre half partnership of Edwards and Morrison. I love Marti but they were basic errors. I watched Colback closely during in the game and one plus point was he still has legs and got around the pitch well especially as it was his second game in a couple of days. If we can agree sensible money with him I would offer him another year. Would be a good bench option for next season. Yeah School end is strange empty seats again in the upper tier by SAR. I can only presume we have had a health and safety directive but it would be good if the club communicated that with the fans. Anyway just pleased we are safe and can watch the others fight it out at the bottom. I was convinced we were going down on the train back from Leeds in November. [Post edited 23 Apr 8:47]

All very strange!!!! One minute you praise Colback (which he deserves for his decent performance on the day) then you say 'Colback would be a 'bench option for next season' - why?? Colback is good for the Team. Not sure MC had many other options but to move Edwards into midfield and provide some cover for our defence - what were his other options?? Re Madsen, been doing much better, playing well, so why should he not be in the starting 11?? He passed the ball for our goal - good vision pass too as well as very tidy pass ball indeed!!! and overall played his part and worked quite hard throughout.

Yeah I really can't get my head round that. If it's anything along the lines of 'looking for an early summer' they only need to have watched Smyth all season to see how much effort he puts in - I'm sure he'll have been gutted not to be able to say he played in every game. These pricks online are either thick or scum or both.

Gazza you are not going to get far in the Championship with a 36 year old central midfielder as one of your starting eleven.

I don't think you can have a 36 year old looking to start every game but he would be good for cover and coming off the bench for injuries or if we are trying to close a game out. He is good in the dressing room and his experience could help the younger players. That's why I say it should only be for sensible money. Personally I would have gone for Morgan as a direct replacement for Varane and kept the Edwards Morison partnership at the back which is so important in the Championship. Agree with Madsen in the starting 11 but I don't think you can have both Madsen and Anderson in the same starting 11. Both are luxury players and don't have a great work ethic without the ball. I think the last time they started together was Derby away and I've still got the scars from that horror show. Such a bloody shame Smyth's suspension as he would have been perfect and Madsen could have gone back in the middle.

I'm not one for long terms bets outside of Cheltenham, but if Marti went, I'd take anything above 10/1 on us going down next year

So, as far as I am concerned, Colback has played a big part getting us points over the past several matches......but you think he should not be starting next season and should be a back-up, whats the difference from now & later?? If he is fit and ready and we get him within our finance budget and he wants to stay & play then we should sign him & play him if he is playing well, like he has recently but basically whenever he plays. Basically, you are talking nonsense about Colback saying 'as a back-up'!!! As a Manager/Coach, you want players wanting to play, not players just collecting their wages. So, re Varane replacement, you would play Morgan who is an offensive player who has not been 'doing it' recently and leave Colback, the 'old boy' whom you would only have his as 'back-up' to run the show defensively in midfield. Did you moan about having Madsen & Anderson playing and now you want Morgan in the side!!!, three forward thinking players, playing together and Colback protecting the back four (they would really enjoy that!!!). I do not want to break the CB partnership but, please, come up with a proper solution/alternative!!! Madsen work ethic has been good the last couple of matches, nothing worse than others imho. And as Norf, and as I have seen, has said he has been a creating good chances recently and deserves his selection. It is not easy for the Manager to select a team when you have so many injuries......but I am glad it is MC and not you!!!
