A massive gulf in quality between this level and the Championship. If you don't stand out here you have absolutely no chance in the Championship. It's clear to see why if you hold your own in league two your parent club are keen to get you a loan higher. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

This is a valid point. Joey Allen stood out a mile at Wrexham and Grimes played a lot of games and was loved at Northampton. Congreve and Cotterill got games under their belts at Bromley and Swindon with goal contributions. McBurney did well at Barnsley to fast track his development. On the other hand a total flop does not always mean time to move the player on. Dan James did nothing at Shrewsbury. He was injured only part of the time. Josh Thomas is similarly affected in RoI. Reindorf looks an interesting player and Newport have to get him firing. Bristol Rovers did not like him much. I believe players who are seen as good long term prospects need 100 games to fully find their feet and confidence. Piroe was clearly dispensed with far too early by PSV. He had not pulled up any trees on loan at Sparta from memory.

Newport County on 22:08 - Sep 6 with 2434 views | Dr_Winston | Given how rubbish they've been since Jenkins took over, not to mention our own struggles between 2013 and when we eventually got shot of him, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that our progression as a club between 2004 and 2013 was down to sheer dumb luck rather than any competence on Jenkins part. I hope he loses his shirt on Newport.

Strange bizarre post. He is one of our own who provided the best decade of the clubs history 2006-2016. He also left a very solid foundation with. flourish ong academy and top drawer infrastructure that attracted investors like we have today. You are not a poster I have much personal time for. Of course many say that about me. There are only two Welshmen putting their money in football. Jenkins and Sullivan at West Ham.

Just been talking with a Newport fan full of criticism of HJ . The fans thought Jenkins woukd bring some priffesiinalism to the club given what happened with us but it seems thats not the case. Many if their fans feel he is taking them down and is interfering too much with tactics and on field matters.

Exactly he was the front man for the people pulling the strings. Now he is on his own he is getting found out. Newport is a hostile environment it could get very nasty.

It would be interesting to know who was responsible for what and when on the way up. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that he was quite a prickly character even then and butted heads with the Trust on more than one occasion, not to mention falling out with individuals like Sousa. What does seem obvious is that after he fell out with Laudrup and installed himself as de facto head of football as well as chairman, the off pitch decision making got considerably worse.

Wasn't Morgan the one who was happy in the background but provided the majority of the funds to buy the Club with Jenkins the figurehead. Selling the Club made Jenkins a wealthy man in his own right and I suppose living in Saundersfoot must sometimes get a bit boring hence his return to football.

He fully deserved a few million for the hundreds of jobs he created with MM. Then there were the hundreds of millions made by the city itself from 7 years of PL football. He was as always it s the de facto head of football. His first season at Swansea was also very difficult of you remember with Cusack out of his depth and a desperately weak squad. Someone mentioned the unhappiness of the Trust with him. The Trust were and are incompetent to run a football club and are now just a well healed timid fans group. who gave n money but no idea what to do with it.

Newport County on 17:35 - Sep 9 with 419 views | Whiterockin | Away to Tranmere on Saturday and could go bottom of the table, the locals have every right to be unhappy. Our u21 on loan there is not standing out, reiterating my point that our u21s are not very good. Hopefully the season will improve for him and Newport as the season progresses.
