Fantastic win.
Unbeaten in 5 (4 wins and a draw so 13/15 points) Magnificent.
Dont want to put a negative spin on what is becoming a great season but the Mitchell conundrum needs sorting. He could have a massive part to play for Dale at this business end of the season, last night looked a long way off the pace. I dont know if the lad needs a kick up the arse or an arm around the shoulder but Jim should know so over to him.
Great result and we do go into the playoffs with some real momentum now. Whether we rest players again on Monday or keep the side going will be a tough one for Jim, I think.
On Mitchell, he will obviously be disappointed that Bird was brought in and put in front of him and he's been scoring and also Rodney overtaking him in the league goals tally with a much better goal to minute ratio. I'd say its up to him whether he wants to show fight to regain his form and place in the team.

The "lad" is 28 years old.
These are his prime years. He should need no encouragement.
He's definitely got issues at the moment and Jim knows it. After Birds cameo on Saturday and his neat finish Jim made a point of praising Mitchell's involvement (he basically played a pass out wide to Kingdon) but Jim was glowing about Mitchell being a team player but the crowd never sung his name only the goalscorer Bird??? Mitchell will be involved in the play off games but it will be Rodney, Bird and Henderson ahead of him. We dont need him sulking when we are on the crest of something massive. Hopefully he will get a goal on Monday against Braintree.

He hasn't been the same since the EFL transfer window closed. Maybe he had a deal scuppered because we needed to keep him for the remaining games. Maybe he already has a deal in place with another club next season. It's all speculation, who knows. Giving the Sandy Lane the cupped ear when he scuffed in a goal didn't do him any favours neither. The criticism has been justified, he's coasted through games and doesn't punch his weight. He has all the physical attributes to play at a higher level but sadly it takes much more than that, drive, desire, fight, passion and over the last few months we've seen none of that. I cling to the hope he might have a very big goal in him though, fingers crossed.

Wonderful highlights. What a quality performance of nearly total dominance and a great save from Barrett before halftime. Solihull keeper outdid him though!
Not quite sure what game Taylor was watching?

Solihull fans are harping on about a nailed on penalty which they should have been awarded. I must have missed that

Yes... I thought is could easily have been given. But overall we should have been 2 or 3 goals to the good. Almost totally controlled the game for long periods .

My mate who went said Barrett collided with one of their players just before Hendo scored. Not worthy of showing on either Solihull's highlights or Dale's so that probably tells you something.

Interestingly you could make a similar observation about Rodney up until the latter part of the season he was a passenger in a lot of games, often looking half hearted. His work rate was terrible!
It’s only been in the latter part of the season (since Mitchell was dropped?) that Rodney has come into his own and hit form.
Maybe he thought he was being played out of position or didn’t like the role he was being asked to do.However whatever the change Rodney is looking happier now and much the threat we thought he could be.
It’s Rodney that is under contract for next season so it’s him we want to show the continued form.

I mentioned the word 'momentum' last night
It's as if several very important factors are starting to come good at exactly the right time
Bird back from injury (absolutely key, however many minutes he can manage) with a resurgent Rodney and Hendo looking to sign off with a flourish
Our wide players suddenly 'look interested'
In midfield, Gilmour looks as fresh and 'up for it' as ever and whilst i rate East, having Barlow and also Edwards means we're not really missing him
The defence looks more solid and that's despite using different combos whilst Barrett is settling down and looks confident now between the sticks
The spirit is high (Mitchell apart) and both the manager and players have a point to prove after the FA Trophy debacle
The above is imo down to 75% chance/luck and 25% management. I'm sure others will disagree on that balance, but whatever... if JM proves to be a lucky manager in the confluence of these circumstances, that'll do

Interesting that you mentioned spennymore. I was saying to a few fans that ironically that experience could work in our favour come the playoffs.
I’m sure the players hurt as much as anyone and if they find themselves in a similar position again they will be better for it.
The playoffs will be very tough. I hope we just give it our best and what will be will be.

Yes, agree with a lot of that. Rodney has a very casual, languid style which is ok if he's scoring goals. Both Rodney and Mitchell blow hot and cold, they only need one goal to get on a roll. Rodney in particular looks very good when he's firing but when hes not he can often disappear. It's the reason they are lower league footballers, they aren't the complete package.

I'd say Mitchell is more luke warm and cold.

I watched his interview last night and wondered if he'd witnessed a different game, hes deluded about deserving of a draw, he probably means due to our inability to score more than 1 on the night more than their actual performance perhaps.

You might criticise KM for his drought of goals, but calling him lazy is a ridiculous, cheap insult. He runs non-stop from whistle to whistle, for the benefit of the team. He forces defenders into mistakes, often resulting in us gaining possession again in midfield. He's not the perfect article by any stretch of the imagination, if he were, he wouldn't be here, but trying to ridicule him as some do, is no more than playground bullying.

He is completely deluded! Wish we could have scored 5 and would like to hear what he had to say then.

Glad that's over, but to a man Dale played well. The DAZN commentators voted Barlow MOTM, with Ayinde a close 2nd.......only mention of Moors GK, Walker , keeping them in the game ,so Dale performances are being recognised away from the COA. They were very knowledgeable of matters Dale,so respect.
Speaking of which a big cheer for the Referee, great effort ma'am!
Referee Melissa Burgin: any relation Ted Burgin, our goalie in that final?

Also his goals contributed to us being in the position we are currently in and not forgetting he played a number of games last season with a broken rib I believe.

If he had a broken rib he wouldn't be able to play football, anybody who has had a broken rib will know that. He's been poor for the last few months, everybody can see that.

KM can't head, he can't trap, he can't shoot or should I say he needs to work upon all these aspects of his game however, he certainly isn't lazy - I'd like to see his running stats, by my reckoning his mileage per game is likely to be up there with the most active in the squad !
