Another season spent falling down the mountain, climbing up the mountain, seeing the summit of a mountain we never expected to see then tripping over our laces and falling down the mountain again, getting above base camp with a few seconds to spare, then being humiliated as we try to sit one final time a few thousand feet above base camp and finally getting an unlikely final second wind
right at the end to storm up the mountain to almost a third of the way up. Does the same futile ascent face us again next season? Of course not... well, probably.

Many thanks, cliveW, for the 46th (and all of the others). A lot of great work in some tough weeks over the season, much appreciated.

I thought the same with Betsy at the time, he clearly wanted the result and he was seriously invested from the sidelines.

Watching the game back on extended highlights, he got the tactics and game plan just about right and that seemed to get the best out of many of the players.

Also watched the Dev team game - lots of talent coming through there with some entertaining football.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Also thanks for absolutely every word you’ve written this season - I think I’ve read every one of them. You may not realise it, but you are one of the highlights of supporting Rangers!

I won’t be in the crown for a few months now - but when we’re back I’ll buy you a Peroni! On that subject thank god they haven’t ruined that place with the refurb…it’s actually quite good. But they went for the QPR school of shite decision making and did it during the season and not June, when it must take 75% less! Still, roll on next season.

What you’ve said about Jimmy Dunne is absolutely spot on and something I feel very strongly myself. If he’s determined to walk away for better money or the desire to play for a club at a higher level then there’s nothing we can do about it.
But if the sticking point really is the length of contract for a twenty-seven year old who gives his all in every game and is one of our most crucial players then those making that decision are letting the club down very badly indeed.

Spot on again Clive - A fantastic accurate report on a nice way to end the season.

Hats of to the management team for the formation change we certainly looked far more comfortable with that system.

Finally a big thank you Clive for all your writing this season. We are so lucky to have you in our tribe. Your articles bring so much enjoyment in supporting our beloved hoops. I have said it before and I will say it again it is without doubt the best £12 that leaves my bank account every month.

Clive, maybe we are not in such a parlous state as some think. Brilliant report as always and totally respect the time and talent that goes into this and podcasts etc. On time I don’t know how you manage to follow us up and down the country, deal with our train system, Premier Inns, full time job, support Crown & Sceptre and produce such reports. So a well earned rest is more than due.
Funny season but, I am the eternal optimist, I actually feel we are not a billion miles from a decent squad. Losing Jimmy will be the hardest to take.
Hopefully see u at DS final, don’t do a report for gods sake….. Andy
