Are we bothering this year?
Who would be responsible for organising it? Where, how many games, against who?

Toulouse in Canet-en-Roussillon. About as good as it gets. Beautiful part of the world. Can't wait. Well done to the club for listening.

Glorious place especially this time of the year .
Well worth the trip .

There was me enjoying a QPR/LFW free summer, when last night at 6ish local time, my WhatsApp went off like a Chinese New Year, peppering me with: Guess who's in your parish?

I live in Carcassonne, so anyone needing pointers feel free to DM me.

I suspect if we get our merde together, we could all meet in the one bar here on Thursday, trash it, then all train it together on the Friday...arms out, 'kin 'ave it.

Good weekend to unveil the 'Carcassonne Rs' flag.

That's great news! Here in Montpellier after many years of trying, I managed to get a few locals following the Rs, after a trip to LR. We should be half a dozen to go :)

Mon dieu, we're everywhere.

Meet you at Narbonne for the 'Rangers Express' south (strikes permitting).

Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord, hot foot across Paris to Gare de Lyon for the Barcelona TGV and you'll be in Perpignan before you can say 'nous sommes QPR!'

As for the sail/car option....before he moved back to Blighty, the other Carcassonne R used to drive from here up to Normandy somewhere and ferry it to Dover. On the toll roads you can put the foot down, but it's a fair shant there and back to see Hevertton Santos!

Portsmouth Caen is best if you are going anywhere near west or south west France. Ferry costs can be quite high but you make up for it with less driving and tolls. Join Club Voyage and it will pay for itself first trip. If you live west of London Portsmouth is really easy to get to.
If the game had been in Toulouse, I'd definitely recommend the above. But, for Perpignan, it only saves 100km or 90 minutes driving. Remember it's about 1135km from Calais to Perpignan, about 11 hours driving. And it will take you through the Low Emissions area around Paris, for which you will need a Crit Air sticker.
Eurostar is usually more expensive than ferries but not as restrictive for travel times.

Try to get a motorway tag. It will save scrambling around for change/cards at toll booths (Peage).
Autoroutes are fast and have plenty of service stations.
If you're planning a stop in hotels, there's usually plenty of options on the French side. Cheaper than UK as 18th July will be high season in UK. Ibis are OK, B&B and Kyriad reasonable; Avoid Formule 1.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread - does anyone know the ticketing situation for the Toulouse game? Looking to head down a first ever pre-season game, will I need to buy tickets ahead of time from the QPR/Toulouse websites or can I pick them up on the door?

I would think these things have to be booked months, if not a year in advance.
One of the (many) reasons Gareth’s pre season was such a shambles was we didn’t know if we’d be a Championship or a League One side until the week before the end of the season.

Haven't seen this on here, but first game is up on Saturday for anyone that's actually missed the football!

Saturday 5th July: QPR v Stevenage, 12pm KO, behind closed doors
Saturday 12th July: CD Castellón v QPR, 11am KO (BST), behind closed doors
Friday 18th July: Toulouse v QPR, 5pm KO (BST), Stade Saint Michel, Canet-en-Roussillon
Wednesday 23rd July: QPR v Cardiff City, 2pm KO, behind closed doors
Saturday 26th July: QPR v SC Heerenveen, 3pm KO, MATRADE Loftus Road
Saturday 2nd August: QPR v Brentford, 3pm KO, MATRADE Loftus Road

Also echo osbus' query about the Toulouse tickets. We must hear about that ASAP. Brentford are starting to sell their tickets from tomorrow.

I just called the Mairie of Canet en Roussillon. Tickets for the game will be 5€ apparently and I was given an email address to write to, to enquire about getting some. Will let you know when I hear back from them.
