T'2025 Test summer 11:51 - May 22 with 5536 views | D_Alien | Had almost forgotten... but the first (single) test has started against Zimbabwe Very much a warm up for what's to come: India, albeit without Kohli, which itself will be seen as a warm up for what could be the defining tour of Ben Stokes career as captain England 59-0 (T'other cricket thread could be reserved for Lancs) [Post edited 22 May 11:55]

T'2025 Test summer on 19:04 - Jun 24 by D_Alien | Expect he'll still play at Lord's, but then rested Talking of pace attacks, i reckon it's worth sticking with Carse and Tongue and getting some experience under their belts. They've been identified as the best available (with Wood and Archer still not available, although the latter started back in red-ball cricket recently) and they didn't do too badly after all against a classy Indian batting lineup Incidentally, i think it's also the first time a side has lost a test match after scoring five centuries |
All the talk was he would play three of the five matches. There is a reasonable break before the next test so he might back up. If they then lose he might have to sit out the third test with India needing to win. Decisions, decisions. England could have Archer and Atkinson back if not for the next text then maybe the third.

Not only that, but according to Andy Zaltzman, it's the first time ever in any first class cricket.

T'2025 Test summer on 15:48 - Jul 10 with 1406 views | D_Alien | Sensible batting by Root and Pope, just 70 runs scored in the afternoon session but laying foundations for a decent score Apparently, Geoff Boycott watching in the stands was seen to smile every time Root took a quick single to get him off strike against Bumrah

T'2025 Test summer on 15:04 - Jul 14 with 1226 views | Dale_4_Life | Not the same level of interest on here for the Lords test.. into the 5th day and a cracking end in sight.. India 8 down... need another 55 runs to win and India take a 2-1 lead. Bumrah faced 37 balls for 4 runs holding the end up whilst Jadeja is equally patient. Two more Indian wickets and it will be England taking the 2-1 lead. [Post edited 14 Jul 15:04]

100% agree two great teams playing hard test cricket. 2-1 England, Test Cricket was the winner. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

who would have thought that a game going along at just over 1 run an over could be so exciting !! could only listen on the radio but enjoyed the tension of it all. Stokes MOM

T'2025 Test summer on 09:48 - Jul 15 with 531 views | isitme | As long as it was not with his hand he could havve tried to knock the ball away. If the ball had hit the pad he possibly could have been out leg before wicket. A great win. Carse's two wickets on Sunday evening blew open the top order. Test crrcket when you have two evenly balanced teams is ace. It will be interesting what happens team wise for the next test. Crawley and Pope must be under threat. Who is the next spinner? Will Atkinson be deemed fit enough to play?
T'2025 Test summer on 11:52 - Jul 15 with 448 views | Daley_Lama | Dawson added to squad for OT and likely to play last 2 tests. If he has 2 good games then more pressure on Bashirâs position but as with Crawley/Pope the management are ultra-loyal. Atkinson back playing club cricket last weekend bowled 8 overs so building up. Woakes obv player at risk. Canât see âson ofâ Crawley and vice-Captain Pope being removed, i think the former would have to do unmentionable things to get ousted from his spot. All eyes on Australia for him.

I hope Dawsom makes it although there is some talk of Leach coming in. I think if Dawson performs he can get a place in the ashes squad. He can bat a bit too

After Siraj hit the ball he could have kicked the ball away. He also could have stopped the ball with his bat again as long as he showed no intent of scoring from it. As previous just not the hand that would have been out handled ball.
