As sad as I am I love this programme. Love watching it and trying to work out the parts of West London it's in.

Pity Terry is a Fulham fan.

I seen an episode lately when they were in the narrow boat pub that used to be on bridge near Ladbrokes Grove Sainsbury's.

Any other episodes or facts west Londoners know about a few filming sites? Any bush related episodes I've missed?

Ps sorry for the early pre season shite no football type post

"Don't tell Him Willy Boy Was Here" was on the other day and the actor Paul Barber was playing a boxer who was mentioning his and his kids' love for QPR (the character he was playing not Paul himself).

'Minder' Ior me is not just a tv programme, more a family member. Terry , Dave and Arthur forever young in perpetuity on itv4.

I have a garden Bar dedicated To the Winchester and write for the following forum which is the bible for all minder fans. It's a real labour of love. It hits hard with many middle age people because 'Minder' was a surrogate father, brother to many.

https://www.minder.org/

There is also a fantastic Podcast for 'Minder' with in depth interviews with writers, directors and cast members .

Don't need no politicians to tell me things I shouldn't be, Neither no opticians to tell me what I oughta see.

No worries mate, we are 'Minder' brothers ;-)

'The Bengal Tiger' had loads of QPR references;

Impossible choice, but probably my favourite 'minder' episode.

I know mate, The writing , the acting and that special weave between Terry and Arthur... magical.

A lot of their dialogue was ad lib, they just played off each other. I've got a script with hand written notes from 'Des' George layton from the episode 'the bounty hunter' where Terry jumps off a flyover onto a lorry, ' Mad bastard'.

Have you seen 'Fox' or Frank Ross 'out' both classics that capture london of the times. brilliant television.

I've alot to learn compered to you brother.

I just watch the episodes and never learn the names of them.
One episode they used the old Labour club in the harrow road which my auntie and uncle (rip) used to govern. Was only a kid at the time but went down very excited. Met a few of the cast. Only vaguely do i remember but at the time it was like meeting the queen. It was always on in my house in my early years.

Amazing what you remember

Programme of its time.

Remember watching it regularly as a kid, young adult and was one of my dads favourite programmes.

My dad's business based around the building trade, met a few dodgy tradesman a la Arthur Daley, who you couldn't help but like.

Was great characters in the program and brilliantly acted.

When have watched old pr0grams on YouTube, they do seem very basic and slow, but think my old man was a wannabe Arthur Daley all his life.

He did get the dodgy Jag anyhow.

And Dave at the Winchester club was a very accurate representation of your pub landlord of the 70s and 80s.

Kinda makes me feel sad watching it. Definitely a more innocent time. Basic comedy drama at its best...

It would be wonderful to be able to time travel back to see if reminiscing you realised what was good and what really wasn't

Bit like the series "Life on Mars" did some time ago.

I enjoy watching a time when the landscape, the cars, the haircuts, the people were all so different.

The episode entitled gunfight at the ok laundromat was filmed in Roehampton at the laundry where my mum worked several years after it was filmed.
We all stood around wondering what was happening on the day of filming, and some of us appeared in the crowd scenes outside. Not me though as I was probably bored and went home for my tea.

Haha. Brilliant mate.

Thanks for everyone who's added a comment.

Just think life has changed so much and alot of good things lost.

Sitting up with a beer now watching QPR in the 90's. Good good times.

We will come again. Maybe when I'm dead but again!

Brilliant episode that Disco, Pete Postlethwaite great as Jack 'Oily' Wragg.

For me, series 3 was where it really hit it's straps and found the right blend of comedy and drama, not a single duff episode. 3, 4 and 5 were absolute peak Minder for me.

'Fox' is a very underrated series. Sadly it seems to have been largely forgotten. Peter Vaughan was brilliant in it.

Aah, Minder was great, it really was. There was a time, when TV companies weren’t such massive caants, just smaller ones, that Minder and Only Fools and Horses were on BBC & ITV one after the other on Xmas day.
Honestly, after a big Xmas dinner and Pud, what was better than flopping out on the sofa and watching those two, one after the other, on Xmas day?

Watching an episode of Terry-era Minder on ITV4 is such a warm, comforting experience. The casting was so good - apart from Terry and Arthur's chemistry, you have the supporting cast like Glyn Edwards as the avuncular Dave and Patrick Malahide as the dogmatic Chisholm. You can't imagine anyone else playing them and their performances are note perfect.

The guest characters in each episode are fantastic too from established actors like Derek Jacobi and Brian Glover to new faces like Peter Capaldi and Brian Cox. My favourite is the Syrup, played by Fred Evans; just a magnificent sub-plot and comedy turn that Shakespeare would have been proud of, right down to him running away at the end when Chisholm turns up.

And then there's the time capsule of London frozen in the early 80s, which is such a nostalgic rush for those of us who grew up in that era (and one of the reasons the later series aren't as good).

Jesus, even the title sequence is genius. It tells you everything you need to know about the characters in 30 seconds and the theme tune is obviously one of the most distinctive in TV history.

It makes sad looking at the credits with the black and white stills where Arthur and Terry seem so natural ending with the Leicester Square image with the film Butch and Sundance advertised in the background. I’m so sad I’ve even stopped the programme to check whether that particular car is still on the road! Only yesterday I was checking on the Princess Alexandra pub to see if it still existed. When I was living in London, I used to drive down Blythe Road en route to HQ but I wasn’t the orange Chevette in the opening scenes even though my dad had one-white though.

In real life Dennis Waterman was-I'm afraid-a Chelsea supporter.
Des, the mechanic in the series, was a QPR fan.
