Can't say that I'm losing too much sleep over the Russia that has have failed to take much more than about a fifth of Ukraine in three years with around a million dead and wounded to show for it. The idea that their armed forces, nuclear deterrent aside, would be more than an annoyance for NATO, even without the US on board is a bit extreme.
We have let our armed forces dwindle a bit too much so some attention paid to them is nice, but Vlad's lads won't be marching up the Mall any time soon. In reality they probably won't get past Warsaw. |  |

They haven't lost anything like that, don't be silly, they couldn't sustain that.
The intention was never to take over the country entirely, that's very difficult, the might of the US and it's hangers on got their arses kicked in Iraq and Afghan. There's no reason, no evidence no intelligence to think that Russia would advance further into Europe.
The Russian aims are well on track. They are taking settlements and winning small victories all the time. Ye, it's taken time, but they are doing what we couldn't do in Afghanistan.

Now I think it could all be hyperbole, inflammatory words being used to scare us plebs into doing what the government wants which may well be tax rises to oay for the armed forces upgrade.
