Fifa Club World Cup 16:25 - Jun 4 with 4961 views | Whiterockin | Starts in 11 days. Are you interested or not. Personally I intend to watch the odd game and would like a European team to win. It will be interesting to see how the clubs from different continents compare particularly Europe and South America.

Fifa Club World Cup on 17:54 - Jun 4 by SullutaCreturned | Well they spread out around the world to get the biggest audience possible then they chose clubs based on appeal, I'd say. Some clubs may have been asked and refused because it may be a tad sensitive, I remember all the fuss is Liverpool when the ESL was coming. It's all about the massive audience and the amount of money they can raise because they are paying out unusually large prize money, it has a one BILLION dollar prize fund. They will get 97 million quid for winning it, WOW. There is also a big "global solidarity" payment because apparently they want to make football, waitt for it, TRULY GLOBAL. How ridiculous is that, is there any major team sport played in as many countries as football? Rugby pales in comparison with 133 countries, Cricket has 102 (96 associate members, 12 test members) while football...211 members of FIFA which is interesting becayuse acording to the UN there are only 195 countries. |
Truly global but without any Indian or Chinese teams. Or teams from central America but loads of teams from the Middle East. Where are the Antarctica sides? Why are there no representatives from the Pitcairn Islands?

Fifa Club World Cup on 01:07 - Jun 19 with 1070 views | Robbie | Yep gave up hope towards the end of the Real Madrid game , even the stadium fans gave up interest , a token pictures of Croatia / Modric shots the sum total of the efforts covering . Even the players were lying about on the pitch feigning injury just to waste time and forget about it . Just why do these sportsmen cover their mouths whilst on camera nonsense . When I was lad a handshake and well done was not filmed even after a 10 - 0 loss .

It’s American, when all is said and done the clubs involved are unheard of in some cases, it’s a profile thing so I’m unsure of they really care.

Fifa Club World Cup on 13:42 - Jun 20 with 582 views | Martyn | I must be in a minority of 1. I am loving this competition. Smacks of the first World Cups I watched in 70 and 74. Reminiscent of those 70's World cups where top teams were expected to batter the African teams etc. Botofoga stiffed PSG 1-0 last night and PSG are now in serious danger of not getting out of the group stage. PSG like all the other teams had their full squad playing With the exception of the injured Dembele PSG had an almost identical line up to their Champions League team. Every team here is taking this competition seriously. It's fascinating watching teams from South America, the MLS, Arabians etc up against the European big guns. Monterrey 1-1 Inter Milan Al Hilal 1-1 Real Madrid Fluminense 0-0 Borussia Dortmund Boca Juniors 2-2 Benfica Palmeiras 0-0 Porto (Porto 1pt 2 games, on way out thx to MLS team) Inter Miami (MLS) beat Porto 2-1 with a strike force of Messi & Luis Suarez. Botafogo 1-0 PSG Games causing qualification problems out of group stages to big names and we are only 1/2 way through the group games. On the BBC, now multiple stories, trashing the competition on attendances. I liken it to politicians. You can take a topic and selectively pick facts to tell the story from which ever side you want. These games are being played in USA Stadiums. These stadiums are 70,000 to 100,000 capacity. 4 games a day. 2 are kicking off during the work day. Chelsea v LAFC was Monday at 3pm and played in Atlanta. People in Atlanta ain't gonna take a day off work to watch a team from LA that is 2,100 miles away. Some Attendances not being reported by the BBC 60,000 - Al Ahly v Inter Milan 81,000 - PSG v Athletico Madrid 56,000 - Boca Juniors v Benfica 62,000 Real Madrid v Al Hilal Yes Bayern beat Auckland City 10-0 but in Oceania (NZ included) its an amateur sport. Australia opted to join the Asia Confed so your left with amateur teams in Oceania. It'd be like Bayern v Ammanford of the JD Cymru South. Auckland are here for the barbie, the party and the girls. I echo your thoughts, although I haven't watch any games yet, i have been following it with interest, reading reports, checking out team sheets, i noticed Rodri played a part for Man City in their first game , I've always followed the World club championships/ intercontinental cup whatever they call it and just like you it reminds me of early World cups, i remember Liverpool playing in the final with what some say was their greatest ever team and Zico ran rings round them.

Fifa Club World Cup on 21:05 - Jun 20 with 460 views | Martyn | Add today's game to PSG's defeat. Despite being under dogs I just watched Flamengo give a full strength Chelsea a true lesson in how to play football. They made Chelsea look like a relegated championship team that also plays in blue. This game was superb to watch on the back of last nights game which you couldnt take your eyes off with Botafogo holding out for the win v PSG Never watched any of the previous Club Cups but this expanded format with qualifying groups is going to become huge very very fast.

Brazilian teams are unexpectedly doing well so far, they have struggled considering their historical high standards in recent decades and the same applies to their national team, I wonder if they can keep it up.

I tried watching Real Madrid v Pachuca last night. The game itself was ok but what was that utter nib cheese Toni Rudiger up to? he kicked someone, they had a little dig back but barely anything and he's straight down on the floor rolling about holding his face but not a mark on him. he even went back for seconds after the ref had told him to quit. The cheating, diving git shoud have seen yellow. he hadn't even been on the pitch long. Thats not football, it's play acting.
