England V Senegal 20:44 - Jun 10 with 2353 viewsbosh67

Good game and Senegal overall have been quite a bit sharper and better but at least it is an open game.

I love Kyle Walker for his time here but his legs have gone completely. He plays like your grandad.

Lee Dixon annoyingly being the archetypal "Where's the bloke love?" about the female referee which is incredibly annoying.

Eze doing well but they need to get him actually into the game attacking.

At least Senegal havce come to have a go and have been more dangerous.

Never knowingly right.

I’d be delighted if we could put in half the effort that Senegal have produced so far.

Do we have enough data and money to sign any of the players or the coach ?

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Sorry but we are sub-standard for the calibre of players that we have available. I would rather see us trying to play football as a team from front to back and losing 5-0 than watching this dated safety first approach at the back and incoherent hit-and-hope approach in the 2nd and 3rd thirds.

hopefully the England side is more about who shouldn't be playing rather than who should.
Colwill looks like a cart horse to me, Walker, definitely off the pace. Gallagher seems unaware of what role he should be playing.
We have such a wealth of talent, but christ on a bike, we make it look really difficult.
Compare these to the flowing football played by Spain/Portugal the other night, we look miles away from competing...

Really missing Konsa.

Eze retains the ball with ease and tends to pass at the right time. He has done more in his first start than Foden and Palmer in all there games. Look a natural to intentional football

Has Ivan Toney been shagging Tuchel's wife or something?

I think with Toney, he has turned up and come into the squad and people have realised that he is just a bit of a tw@t. One of the reasons be is in Saudi. No one wanted to take a punt on him

VAR is killing the game. It’s doing everything it can to give reasons not to give goals, the very objective of the game.

and THAT is why football is an absolute joke these days.

How in the world is that a handball. He had no idea about it.

Total shambles ruling out a perfectly good goal. Pathetic.

Colwill definitely used his arm. Clear use of the arm.

Agreed, unfortunate but definitely handball even though Lee (not very good) Dixon thought otherwise. Senegal very much deserved it. By far the better team and Tuchel really has to think about what shape team he's trying to create because it is slow, one dimensional and unbalanced.

Never knowingly right.

That’s what I thought, too. Very clever, but not clever enough.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

94 minutes gone and Senegal's players are breaking at 100MPH and scoring a third goal with all the time In the world.

Why did that 3rd Senagal goal look so familiar?
England take an age over a free kick; then hits the first defender;!
They break away and score …

Couldn’t be arsed to watch it. Ex scum manager playing ex or current Chelsite players ‘he knows’
Clueless.

We are what we are at the moment .
Very average .
Lots of young players and in a couple of years …maybe . Lewis Skelly , Colwill not quite ready . Will be , but not yet . Walker is done .
I think Harry Kane is one of the best there’s been but the best 20 mins of the game for England was when we didn’t have a striker on the pitch with Eze as the false 9.

As Keane just said , something isn’t right .
And I still think it’s attitude . I think these players just want to go on holiday . Senegal new we were there for the taking .

Hopefully stopped the hype train before it left the station for America next summer .

Edit. Also means we won’t hear ‘footballs coming home’ next summer too

I do think the care factor is quite low, to be expected at this time of year.

We comprehensively beat Senegal at the last world cup so hopefully when it counts we'll be better. Tuchel though has got off to a pretty uninspiring start.

Senegal have the AFCON at the end of the year and a decent mix of experience and pace. Was always going to be tricky but a totally pointless friendly at this stage of the season.

Still disappointing when the second string get a chance and turn in that even taking that into account. I get why Southgate and now Tuchel struggle to trust some of the younger players and go back to Trippier/Henderson/Maguire or whoever we often feel shouldn’t be in there. The mentality that used to exist just isn’t there in the same way. There isn’t the same level of pride in being picked for England from many players there used to be. Feels like a chore to many of them.

You’d have Maguire in there ahead of these Chelsea players: he clearly cares about playing for England. Hopefully Tuchel will have learnt a few things in the last week.

Yeah given all the money they get paid by their clubs, I just don't think there is the same enthusiasm playing for England these days.

It almost feels like playing for the country is a distraction. That is more to do with the mentality of the clubs they play for and the demands on them there. However, a lot of the Senegal team play in Europe so difficult to know if that is wholly true.

Senegal played with immense pride, pace and as you say, enthusiasm. They played how we wished we played. We played like QPR at the end of a three game week!

Never knowingly right.
