"Gareth Bale is leading a consortium that has made an approach to buy Cardiff City.

Bale’s group sent a letter of intent to Cardiff owner Vincent Tan last month, which expressed their desire to purchase the Welshman’s hometown club and included financial numbers.

The proposal was rejected but interest from the former Real Madrid winger in Cardiff remains strong — whereas he is not in the frame to acquire Plymouth Argyle, despite recent reports. Cardiff declined to comment."

Best of luck, obviously Plymouth was a mix up 😂

He will be able to call up league 2 players and offer them 3k a week.

I first heard about this last year so it’s definitely got legs, as has the fact Vincent needs to do one. No one believes he’s put in 200 million, those figures just don’t add up, most of what we currently lose each month now is apparently made up of interest payments to Dalman, his and chops wages, paying off former managers and players, all his doing. He’s failed so he might aswell just do one.

Heard Bale is keen on changing their kit back to red cos they are always shite in blue.

He has a valid point.

You really would think if Bale and his gathering want to invest in a club then it would be Cardiff.

I bet Tan makes this difficult.

He could do what Sir James Radcliffe did at Man Utd and buy a portion of the club on the condition he calls the shots.

Bale perhaps with Brains takes over appointing coaches managers and recruitment owing less than 50% and Tan sells up his portion if and when when they get the Premier League.

Now would be the time to get involved. A fully funded CCFC should be able to get promoted from the third league.

Hmm, Dalman eh, I remember reading about that and he loaned the club money at an extortionate interest rate. Almost as if he was milking the club for profit with no real desire to make them succesful.

It's entirely plausible he;s put 200 million in, after all he's been arounfd there for 15 years so 200 is not very much over that length of time. Also, he'd apparently been shelling out 2 million a month to cover losses for a good chunk of that. Still shelling out iver 1 million a month recently too.

To be hnest 200 million sounds like an underinvestment in the "sleeping giant" as "big as Barcelona" league one team.

For Bale to do this there has to be serious money people involved. Bale's net worth is said to be around 120 million and Tan won't sell Cardiff easily. He seems determined to fight the Sala case to the bitter end no matter the financiak repercussions. It has to be about his oride, he'd rather make Cardiff suffer than chalk the losses up to experience and move on.

It can hardly fill any sensible Cardiff fan with confidence for next season. He'll throw money at court cases but then cuts the club off financially because he's lost enough money there.

I wonder how spending rules will affect you down there. You've lost a lot of money these last few years. Any worries around the spending rules?

Available information suggests Dalman has loaned £40m at a chunky 9% rate roughly twice inflation. A good unit Trust would average 4-7%.

This rate is common in EPL EFL clubs as it is high risk and banks will not take risks like this after 2009 crisis.

The Burnley owners bought the club with a £40m 9% loan. Mr Pace took it of Mr Dell of computer fame who had cash to burn. This is a leveraged purchase. High risk high interest. In this case as they own the whole club the club and their fans pay the loan off not the owners. This is why the Glazers are so unpopular . They did this.

As I understand it the famous "convertible loan note" at Swansea was at a rate much less than this. 4-5% variable I read somewhere. . The loan was converted to shares after Silverstein sorted out the legal case. They were putting money on not taking it out. This is why I defend them on occasions.

It could be Dalman will convert his loan into shares after a fixed period. With £40m on the slate he could be a potential buyer in the future. He was interested in a club last year I recall reading. Tan has accepted this rate and there might be reasons no one knows e.g. in league of salary etc .

Bale was a truly great player but has never struck me as the sharpest tool in the box. I mean, you're clearly not a dazzling intellect if you think that it's a capital wheeze to hold up a flag mocking the club currently paying you the thick end of £400k per week to play for them.

Even though he obviously won't be the main money man involved (he's rich but not football club owner rich) I am unconcerned by this. In fact the potential for comedy if he does take over and makes a pigs arse of it vaguely puts me in the "pro" camp.

Can see Tan selling. He is already owed £100 million and is not going to write that off when he is getting 7% interest on the debt

With Tan how much is money and how much is ego. Does he really want someone come in and be successful, showing him as a business failure.

But the sending rules are different down there aren’t they! Maybe they will throw money at players a la Birmingham to get them out of L1 / Div 3 and then start again with an advantage in the Championship if they get back up. If that is possible, and going by what Birmingham did then it must be, something should be done to prevent this happening in the future surely?

I was reading the thread in Phil’s site which asked where people thought we’d finish next season. All bar one was humble and realistic hoping for a top half finish or flirting with the play offs.

It made me think what the replies would have been if Anus had posed the same question. They already think they’re the biggest club in Division 3 and feel that it’s going to be every other club’s cup final. It’s beyond belief how delusional they really are. Keep on saying that Bake will rake them back to where they belong. That will include another relegation next season then😂

There is a massive difference in expectations between both sets of fans obviously where I live I see it on a daily basis.

I honestly can’t believe they think this ‘we are your capital’ has any meaning but they really believe it’s annoys us.
