Its communication at least, and I definitely support that.

i wonder what 'off the pitch' things are happening...

Communication is positive. Lack of depth is disappointing....

I agree. Better than what went before (i.e. nothing). At least they noticed how good the fans have been and have now mentioned it

Is it communication? Or is it meaningless platitudes disguised as communication? We've learned nothing new. They've just repeated a few bits from other announcements and said cheers for not burning the place to the ground. They can say they're communicating with fans, without actually communicating anything.

Interesting sign off.

There was a similar statement posted by the board prior to the start of last season. Then it was overseas signings that needed time to settle in. This year it's young players. Essentially they're managing short term expectations.

I don't think we should always be so negative. Much better we say thanks for this and we hope open communication can thrive during the next season. What would help would be ..... I suggest a list is made of what people want and let it be fedback. I have found if we are sensible and not gobby we get an ear.

Yeah, definitely this. A lot of people getting excited due to a couple of signings and maybe getting carried away, fueled by clickbaits and social media.
On here, we're a little longer in the tooth, and I'd say we would all be happy with mid table.
Be surprised if we make anymore signings now as the players we have signed are not 18 year olds. Suggest DS players will be given a chance.

Now 26/27 season is a different story........

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

I would say "meaningless platitudes" is a bit harsh. I think it was a nice touch acknowledging Marti, even if they didn't go so far as to explain exactly what led to the garden leave situation. The phrase "not the end to his QPR career anyone wanted" begs more questions than answers, but many boards in this situation would have chosen to simply gloss over the issue completely.

One question I do still have though: Does anyone know if Xavi Calm is still with us? He's been completely left out of any official statements (unless I just missed it).

Normally they just say 'So long, dickbags'

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

He’s filming an Iberian peninsula road trip special for Netflix where him and Morgan Fox take the pis out of how much sun cream Jack Colback gets through.

Falls squarely in the 'better than nothing' category.

We know Nourry and Cifuentes fell out and that's why there was a change - not one I welcomed personally, but no need for them to rake over those particular coals now, nothing to be gained.

As ever, proof is in the pudding and all that.

Poor Jack! Being of a similar shade of deathly pale, and having once famously caught heatstroke in Cornwall, I know exactly how he feels..

I dont think any organisation with its head screwed on would say much more.
The only thing they could have added is F0ck off Chelsea scum, other than that it keeps me more than satisfied.

I'd certainly think Calm is gone.

They may not be mentioning it because they're still negotiating his settlement, or they may not feel they need to bother, but he's not coming back.

Yep particularly as Calm's role was with the defense and set piece side. That's already been replaced by Bould and they're looking for a set piece coach. Gracias Xaxi

"Off the pitch, we are in the process of exploring new opportunities which we feel will help QPR take important steps forward as we do everything we can to be as competitive as possible."
"The staff at QPR are working incredibly hard to put the club in the best possible position to progress."

How do they measure "... important steps forward" or "progress"?

Whilst Chansiri is holding pressers asking fans to directly pay all outstanding debt and unpaid wages, I'm not upset that our main concern is the wording in a post season update

Off the pitch, we are in the process of exploring new opportunities which we feel will help QPR take important steps forward as we do everything we can to be as competitive as possible.

I'm interested in the above and my first thought would be the category 1 academy status

Cat 1 Academy or stadium renovation/move. Or, more likely, both.
