Don't get back with your exes ect, but I'm convinced Luongo could have done a very good job in the Colback role this year. Thought he was great when he was here, proper hard worker in the middle of the park, winning the ball and driving us forward.

They are back to haunt us on 10:20 - Aug 1 with 1275 views | Loyalitat | Ryan Manning. Nourry bangs on about bringing younger players through to play at championship level. He'll have to go some to have his class(es) of 2024 & 2025, match what has preceded. Eze aside, there are a decent number of players that started at QPR and have played quite a significant number of championship games to date, either entirely for us or in conjunction with other teams at this level.. Ryan Manning 240 championship games Seny Dieng: 168 championship games Joe Lumley: 152 championship games Ilias Chair: 245 championship games Paul Smyth: 106 championship games Os Kakay: involved in 98 championship games Out of the younger players currently at the club, two of the most able with the potential to forge decent careers at championship level, pre-date Nourry: Walsh and Kolli. Considering how difficult it is at championship level, I don't think that's a bad return by the club on players that they have helped to develop into becoming championship capable. That's in spite of a number of others being poached by bigger clubs before they had the chance to play for us at first team level. [Post edited 1 Aug 11:40]

Its about the value we derive from them tho. Yes some decent players there (though Kakay and Smyth pretty borderline), but arguably where we failed was commercially more than in a development sense because (correct me if I am wrong) the only player there we have picked up a fee for was Dieng and that was from memory fairly modest.

I don’t begrudge him making the move he did when he did but he seems to go out his way to be a prick every time he’s back. Also don’t think he’s a particularly good player any more for a club supposedly expecting to be top end of the league bar the occasional long throw.

I thought Begovic threw in the towel to focus on his goalkeeping school after his one season as back up . Marti will be bringing a serious team remember their last visit when we had Ainsworth the predictions were a savage beating but we kept it close hopefully go one better this time

I would say Lumley, particularly after Villa was pretty borderline too. Many of those Championship matches were not for us, especially Manning, so we neither benefited from him nor got much of a fee. Also the PP is talking about players now from 27-30 years old. You can't reasonably compare a ten year record to one that's lasted 18 months.
