Did anyone realise that Poku had a hamstring injury which kept him out of action for 3 months between early December 2024 and early March 2025, for which he had surgery?
That is worrying.
[Source: ChatGPT, but confirmed by checking P'Boro's match history]
So, we're waiting for official news on no less than 6 injured/recovering/recovered players: Dunne, Cook, Morgan, Poku, Varane and Smyth ahead of tomorrow's game. That's over half a starting 11.
Whenever there is a pre-match video interview with a gaffer they are always asked about the injured players and who’s available. Before Plymouth there was nothing except a few words written as a script for the socials, but nothing regarding injuries which is odd. This makes me fear the worst with the likes of Poku. Hopefully they’re not too bad and we willl have a full squad to select from very soon. Fingers crossed for Poku, Dunne et al

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
Do you think it's down to the new pitches we train on? Grasping at straws really!!
A few years ago, Newcastle kept getting a freakishly high incidence of hamstring injuries which they attributed to the training pitches. Don't think there was ever any link proven but I'm sure they ended up replacing the surface.
'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'
Well we were told Smyth and Varane should be back this weekend which will be helpful. I don’t realise Cook was injured, where did that come from?
Thought it was: Larkeche - out for season. ACL JCS - meant to be back after international break but we will see as they say Frey - back after international break Poku - hamstring - no news Dunne - hip - no news Morgan - foot - rumour - no news
The issue is the rumour and speculation. The club should give an update. On the above, the only one we can look at medical staff for is Poku, maybe Frey. Dunne, Larkeche, Morgan…just unlucky football injuries.

I was thinking of Cook coming off early in the second half v Brentford. He did come on as a sub last Saturday for a few minutes so may be okay.
