Average age today 20:09 - Aug 9 with 3951 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | 23.3 years. Three things. 1. that is ridiculously low, by far the lowest today in the Championship today. 2. Don't panic. These youngsters need our support. 3. I felt really old watching that.

Mainly for the dozens of reasons already well covered that there is no need to go over. But this he has nailed. Ferdinand wanted this but for whatever reason he held back or didn’t get Warburton’s buy in. I was really excited to see Esquerdinha today. Proper putting your money where your mouth is. He might be doing it for corporate and commercial reasons not football ones, but I am really behind him on it. Also, not one single loan player. When was the last time we kicked off a season without a single loan player in? To be commended. Long may it continue. [Post edited 10 Aug 9:52]

So why not recalibrate your attitude to CN on the basis of your post?

I hadn’t noted this but love that fact. No loan players is a great move for a club like Us

We will get least two loans in near the end of the window - i feel. A full back and a centre mid. Think one new centre forward will be bought in. Probably Ba. Rumours still around Saito as number 14 unassigned.

Well, I get your point Barry. However, we did kick off last season without a loanee in our matchday lineup against WBA. So I'm going to say: 10 August 2024 https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/ced101ve8qjt#Line-ups

Average age today on 09:20 - Aug 10 with 1745 views | francisbowles | I thought Morrison and Mbengue were very good. If they can keep that level and grow as a partnership, Cook will be doing a lot of bench time this season. Mbengue was great in the difficult left sided CB position for a right footed player.

We've got options with this guy. He's got decent pace as well as defensive capabilities so I can see him playing RB or DM as well as CB if needed. Morrison was excellent too.

It’s not a binary thing like a light switch is it? There is nuance. [Post edited 10 Aug 9:31]

In that case it's surely better to say: there's a number of things I don't like about Nourry (or even the way he operates). I don't like Nourry doesn't sound very nuanced...

Average age today on 10:26 - Aug 10 with 1444 views | JPC | It’s OK Bazza, I think your view probably reflects that of a large number of supporters. It’s quite possible to feel that there’s something not quite right about the way CN acts, yet also feel very positive about some of the things being done, particularly youth. The 2 positions are not mutually exclusive. I have to say that I thought there was a lot to enjoy about some of the football we played, with all the usual caveats

Here we are Baz. Bookmark this for later in the season. You may need to change a few words. “He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.”

You can say what you like. Clive's the only police officer here who can chuck us out and delete what we say. But being as it's a message board people may question what you say. I get tired of the 'I hate Nourry' narrative for a few reasons. One because it becomes boring on every single thread. Two because I think there's an element of group-speak which is my pet hate and is a massive issue in society atm. But most importantly because I think it leads to an excessively negative view as certain commentators are desperately seeking the negatives to prove themselves right, so the debate on every player becomes skewed (or at least I'm never sure they're not biased by dislike of him personally so I automatically discount what they say, which isn't balanced either) I'm not including you in this Bazz but your comment feeds into that narrative.
Average age today on 10:51 - Aug 10 with 1276 views | BrianMcCarthy | The average age won't save Nourry if the team doesn't perform. Having a young team is exciting (the first half yesterday was great fun), and it does bring hope that we can bring more money in from future sales but I thought that we were weak and naive last year and it will be very interesting to see what we are by the end of this transfer window.

A very fair post. I don't trust Nourry, not in the slightest I'm afraid, but I am trying to give praise where it's due, if for no other reason than I want to enjoy myself on this board. I think Bazz is trying to do the same.

I saying the language was policed not the opinion. Brian and JPC are correct. However, if we must keep score, no one is forming new accounts to denigrate Nourry that I can see. Appreciate you are approaching from a position of good faith though.

All right question what you say and/or the language you use, I think that covers it.. That happens in MBs all the time. However, if we must keep score, no one is forming new accounts to denigrate Nourry that I can see.I didn't say they did. Bit of a straw man there. I'm not saying those that loathe Nourry are not acting in good faith either. Just that it doesn't have to inforn and infect almost every thread (IMO obviously) as I don't think it's helpful. I understand that's very much a minority view and I accept that.
