"What started as support for Palestine has been hijacked by the far left."
These marches may have begun as a show of solidarity with civilians caught in conflict, but it's increasingly clear they've been co-opted by radical elements with a very different agenda.

We’re seeing:

Open calls for the destruction of Israel, not peace.
Chants and banners with hard-left, anti-capitalist, and often anti-Western rhetoric.
A focus that has shifted from humanitarian concern to political ideology — with socialism, decolonization, and anti-police narratives now dominating the conversation.
Let’s be honest: this isn’t just about Palestine anymore. It's a broader vehicle for far-left activism, and many who genuinely care about innocent lives are being drowned out or used as cover for more extreme voices.
You can support peace and condemn civilian suffering without aligning with those who celebrate terrorism, push Marxist ideology, or hate everything about the West.

Taken over by middle class Pippas and Tarquins with the time and money to do so
They so miss the student days of anti apartheid demos and the buzz it gave
Those against our country taking in these chancers seem working class folk who seem genuinely upset as opposed to the faux outrage of Palestine fans

Mind you I hate Sweet Caroline

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

The way many involved in pro-Palestine protests are now expressing open support for Palestine Action, a group that openly admits to plans to degrade UK defense assets, does suggest the movement is becoming more extreme.

You can forgive the young ones on those marches - they've been indoctrinated with Marxist ideology, Critical Race & Gender Theory and taught to hate being British - especially if they're white - all the way through school and university. Hopefully they'll grow out of it and not become self-loathing idealogues like the middle-aged f**kwits on these demos ranting with impotent rage who should have grown the f-up by now and realised that the root cause of their collective misery and angst lies a lot closer to home than Gaza. Stockholm syndrome on a bewildering scale.

It's the same sort of people who have been protesting for decades. Greenpeace, CND, all that Jazz. Probably all still getting much of their funding from the same place too.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Yep.

The Just Stop Oil mob disbanded when they realised getting arrested, charged and probably jailed was costly and inconvenient. Probably the first people to complain about their obscene £2k plus energy bills and not being able to join the dots with Mad Milliband's crusade.

Perhaps it’s time to look into this more closely. The level of ideological influence within the curriculum, particularly favouring left-leaning perspectives, has become excessive.

You probably won't bother to read this article as it's written by a Conservative but it rings true in my experience, discussions with other parents etc..

50% of teachers polled voted for Corbyn in 2019. To suggest that there isn't a left-wing bias in the teaching profession is daft. Of course it's not on the official curriculum but looking at the new Labour approved head of Ofsted I can see it getting worse.

I doubt if there is much is the way of explicit instruction in Marxism or CRT, but do you have any concerns about changes in the GCSE English language curriculum or for that matter the choice of certain "progressively"-oriented books for younger pupils? You may recall that here in Wales "Of Mice and Men" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" were removed from the GCSE curriculum following the suggestion by Wales’ Children’s Commissioner Rocio Cifuentes that they were psychologically and emotionally harmful to some pupils. Ironically, I used to think that John Steinbeck was one of the first authors I came across who brought home to me the impact of social inequality. Then there is the move to "curate" the selection of books contained in libraries to decolonialise these institutions. Some librarians working in education are involved in this push.

I don’t know a lot about the Welsh system, but since a boy doing GCSEs in England. The texts are Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls and assorted War Poetry.

My understanding is this range is pretty common.

I’m not for decolonisation of libraries but do believe in diversity of choice.

In regard to the original point, curating libraries is quite a long way away from directly teaching Marxism, CRT and gender ideology.

That’s simply not true.

Well, I refer you to my first sentence regarding most teaching in school, (i.e. i wouldn't exaggerate the problem). However, as far as decolonialising libraries goes, I think CRT does have a lot to do with it. If you do a bit of reading and look at some of the quotes from the principal actors you'll see what I mean.

" from the river to the sea," refers to everyone living together peacefully, it's not what you have been told it is

I’m sure you’re right.

The point I was responding to is the direct teaching of those things and to hate Britain in school. It just happens that GCSE texts are a good example how that’s not the case.

I’m still all for diverse texts in libraries, mind 😉

So what you've been told is right. What I've been told is wrong.🤔
I can't believe I've been so vulnerable. Imagine listening to people with different views and all this time they were wrong. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I can feel a weight being lifted as I text. Thank you once again.🙏

From the river to the sea is not anti Semitic and does not mean the de facto destruction of Israel. It is an Israeli myth. Currently Isreal are planning a new settlement they claim will mean the end of Palestine presumably because they can built a security zone through the West Bank.

With out Gaza the West Bank would have no port or access to the Mediterranean.

So why does this phrase not mean anything much. The new state should be Gaza and the West Bank linked by a train and rail corridor. They had one for West Berlin. The Israeli would be unaffected with road passages above or below the corridor.

The Settlers have caused an awful lot of problems for the West and their claims need to be put in a dustbin.

Latest polls suggest that Corbyn’s new party will take at least 30% of labours vote in the next election but Starmer has enough time left to work hard to make sure that figure is significantly higher.

The bias inherent in the education system is made clear by the fact that you can't move for lessons about Nazi Germany, but there's not a word about the crimes of the Soviet Union.

Totalitarianism is the same no matter what side of the political fence you sit on, and education should reflect that.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
