Swansea City in talks 11:08 - Aug 26 with 27061 views | KeithHaynes | As from this morning talks between the Swans and two players, one believed to be a loan are underway to bring them in before the end of the window. Monday (7pm) One is cited as a goalscorer and of interest for months due to the clubs progression planning. The other a defender. The location of one of them is believed to be mainland Europe. In an ideal world the club want three in.

Swansea City in talks on 11:21 - Aug 28 by jack247 | I’m not knocking Idah, I don’t know anything about him and these twitter rumours are usually wrong anyway. I’ve said if we don’t get in anyone the calibre of the type of players we could have signed two months ago, that’s an issue. Kone was the best player in league one last season according to the PFA |
Idah scored more goals in SPL in less games than Kone scored in League 1. Now i'm not saying 1 is better than the other, this is just to point out the hyperbole that Idah is not good enough for us that is being spouted on here. I highly doubt he will come here tbh

Maybe journeyman is pushing it but are you seriously telling me this transfer excites you? He went for 10m last year but now fee rumoured is a couple mill - think that says a lot

Tells me Celtic are desperate to raise finances after taking a £15M champions league hit.

As I’ve said, I’m not knocking Idah. I don’t know anything about him outside Wikipedia. Just a general point that we need to be bringing in at least the kind of quality we could have had in pre season

Absolutely - nothing but good things to say about the recruitment team. That's what I'm saying though this feels like more of an O'Dea call than something they'd have planned

ODea may have recomended him. But he will still go through the same checks Montague said it applies to every player we sign.

Swansea City in talks on 12:01 - Aug 28 with 2397 views | Daggyjack | I cannot understand the knocking of Idah to be honest. He went to Celtic for £9 million and if (if) we do sign him, it will be for a couple of million. Very good business, the right age, injury free for a while now and knows where the net is (albeit in the SPL).

We are in discussions with Celtic and those I spoke with were of the view he fits our profile. Big and holds the ball up well and can also do the donkey pressing work.
Swansea City in talks on 12:21 - Aug 28 with 2181 views | Dr_Winston | As a club we used to pride ourselves on taking players that had talent but maybe not quite found themselves somewhere to flourish and making something of them. Nathan Dyer is the prime example of that. A talented but unproven winger who came to us with something of a legal cloud over his head and proceeded to make himself a stone cold club legend. If we are in for Idah he has a track record significantly higher than Kone does. I'm prepared to give him a chance.

I mentioned it on Jack Army forum, people forget Piroe scored 1 goal at PSV before joining us then went on to score 22 goals first season Obefemi scored 0 goals season before joining us then scored 12 first season. Im not saying this signing will be a Piroe, just stating players perform different in different surroundings. Viktor Gyökeres anyone? [Post edited 28 Aug 12:22]

Add Wayne Routledge to some extent to that. Dyer perfect example. Scott Sinclair? People need to chill. We set the bar high and we didn't get Geubbels. It might of been a risk anyways. But it shows ambition from the Club and maybe with results getting better and foundations in place we can build on that next transfer window.

Swansea City in talks on 23:21 - Aug 27 by vetchonian | as bad as Gailbraith was when you saw him? You werent happy when his name was banded about before we signed him. What was it you said "He was anonymous in both games I watched him play. Im certain the reports on him being brilliant are just smoke and mirrors to big him up." and something about expecting us to sign better |
Some bloke in the pub that follows Derby told one of his mates that Whittaker was a wrong ‘un too. This poster is always slagging off our players and potential new players. Never learns. [Post edited 28 Aug 13:34]

Unlike most I'm not all that bothered if we don't sign a striker this window as long as Sheehan realises that Cullen should never start at striker qahead of Vip. This guy looks a clear upgrade on Cullen.

Swansea City in talks on 12:42 - Aug 28 with 1930 views | ItchySphincter | Anyone who pretends they think this is the blow-your-socks-off marquee signing Keith and this board has been hinting at all summer needs their heads read. It pretty lukewarm even as the back-up we were supposed to be in for and really happy with. All that said and as underwhelming as this looks after all the hype and high fiiving of the ITK‘s at least it’s another option, but make no mistake he’ll look as useless as any other strikers here if we don’t give him the ball.

I did say earlier underwhelmed but at 24 scored goals at Celtic if the price is right he's certainly an upgrade on what we have And I'd prefer him to Kone if he does come

who were you hoping to come in that would be a blow-your-socks-off marquee signing. No one we've been linked too has hit that mark for me. Idah seems no more or less of a signing than anyone else we've been linked with/rumored to miss out on

Swansea City in talks on 12:48 - Aug 28 with 1862 views | Landore_Jack | Swansea 'pushing hard' to sign Celtic forward Idah Swansea City are in talks to sign Celtic striker Adam Idah. It’s understood the approach has come as a surprise to Celtic, who had no intentions of selling the Ireland international this summer. Idah has also not been looking to leave the Scottish champions. However, Sky Sports News understands Swansea are pushing hard to sign the 24-year-old and are prepared to pay a decent fee. Negotiations continue as a result. Celtic signed Idah permanently from Norwich in a deal worth £9.5m last summer, after a successful loan spell.

Swansea City in talks on 12:50 - Aug 28 with 1831 views | 01swans | The narrative of a 'wow' signing I think gave us all unrealistic expectations. Reality is we're building and the project is still developing - a year or 2 from now and I think we'll have much more pull to get those kind of players through the door.

I don’t care who we sign so long as they’re good enough. I was making two points, neither dismissive of this player. 1. Too much hype has been attached to this signing. Hints but no substance, it’s bound to disappoint if it doesn’t come off. Should have played it down. 2. It wouldn’t matter if we signed George Weah or the real Ronaldo at their peak, no striker is getting goals in this team until we do the simple things like get the ball in to the box. Just casual observations.
