With apologies for derailing.

How do people think we will line up against Wrexham? I haven't watched any of their games, and don't really know what to expect from them. They've had a mixed start - like us - and play with wing-backs I think?

I hope we persist with a more direct approach, allowing the midget 10 army to collect second balls facing goal. This is perhaps not a game you'd necessarily want to play Madsen in - but then Stephan has surprised us with his selection already so who knows.

Assuming the new signings are closer to match fitness after the break, I'd be tempted to start with Hayden and Varane in CM.

Poku should be returning soon, but I assume won't be immediately available, so I'd go with Smyth left and Saito right, given they will both put a shift in defensively. Feels like it might be time for Dembele to sit one out, especially away from home.

I'm not sure who I'd play in ACM. I like the look of Vale, and would be tempted to persist with him in that role. Feels like he could be useful at picking out the pass that gets Saito / Smyth / Kone away.

Was hoping Moore would get injured playing for Wales

As for us it'll be as you were I'd imagine.
Scared cat in goal
Rest as you were.

I would start Saito given his impact last week and Dembele was useful as he created a great opportunity and was unlucky not to open scoring for us

An issue will be who plays against Moore. As someone else has suggested, it may be one for Cook who is taller and more experienced than Mbengue. That said, Moore will have played twice for Wales, including tomorrow, so I'm hoping he's a bit knackered.

Our full backs, Dunne and RND will have also traveled if not played so hoping they're okay for what could be a bit of a battle against their opposing wingbacks.

Given Wrexham's formation, there'll be space in behind the wide positions so that's where we could see some joy. Balls pulled back to Kone, who seems to like to play slightly deeper, may prove fruitful.

I’m hoping Hayden will be match fit and good to go. He played 90 for JA against Nahki Wells’s Bermuda and will most likely do the same tomorrow morning at 1 am against Trinidad. And Tobago! Would a jet-lagged body-clock shook Hayden be better than Madsen?

What the hell is a thread to do with an actual football match doing on here?

I think you know the answer to that one.

Hayden could fall off the plane just finishing his 13th can of Red Stripe, quickly burn off his last bit of ganja and walk to W12 from Heathrow and he'd be the better option.
Probably.

Moore is their target man and at 6'5" he's good in the air.
Use Dunne as marker when they get set pieces.
Defensively, they havent been great, so we could get opportunities.

I'd go with

..................Nardi.............
Dunne...Mbengue..Morrison..RND
...........Varane....Field...........
Smyth.........Vale........Saito
.................Kone.................

I suspect that we will see Walsh in goal though with Vale maybe dropped for Madsen or Morgan

Could do with an injury update, Suspect you are 100% right unless he goes for Hayden instead of Field. Dembele available to pay after 30 minutes or so. Speedster Burrell on after 60.

Thing is even with injuries we have options. I agree no news on Illias can only be bad news

Noticed Smyth not in the NI squad so maybe his injury worse than expected though he seemed buzzed at the end of the Charlton game

Not looking forward to watching us play against O’Brien and Sheaf in their midfield. £12m I think just on these 2. Got to be one of the better midfields in the league.

Like many, I would Nardi, but think it will still be Walsh for the foreseeable.

RND Morrison Mbuenge Dunne
Hayden Varane Field
Saito Kone Smyth

Bring on Burrell probably for Field for two up top.
Smyth subbed by Kolli.
Esquerdinha for RND.
Cook for a central defender to shore up at the back.
Messi on for Saito straight swap like for like change !!!!!!!
