However he always made his arguments in a calm way.

Charlie Kirk would be the first person to debate you or anyone else on the 2nd Amendment, the right to bear arms. He knew the US Constitution inside and out. In his debating, he would want to change his opponents' viewpoints on the subject at hand but he would go about it in a genteel manner. A devout Christian who would always express his belief in God & Jesus Christ, who believed in marriage, and encouraged his family, friends, and strangers in the sanctity of marriage and to have children. He made it his mission to speak to college students about conservatism via his Turning Point USA platform. Fabulous speaker, intelligent, funny, quick-on-his feet in debating, very charming & charismatic, inspirational, it was quite evident that he was appealing to more and more young people, especially college students, in the virtues of true conservatism, and the shortcomings of woke-ism. Only 31, married, and a father to two young children. Never graduated from college because someone early on saw his potential as a future leader, and encouraged Kirk to bypass college and pursue his dream, Turning Point USA. If you don't know much about him, then I suggest that you do some research and learn more about him. He was, as many conservative leaders believed, a future President of the US in the making. | | | |

Political violence is rarely justified, but it has to be said that there is also a certain amount of hypocrisy coming from the right on the subject. Ask the families of Melissa Hortman or Gabrielle Giffords if this marks a departure from the usual political discourse.

I am so thanful that our children can go to school without this threat.

Never heard of the bloke. Rest in peace. Charlie presumably would have defended the right of the gunman to bear arms including a sniper rifle with telescope. ( If it had happened to anyone else).
He would have argued guns do not kill people but people do. He will argue that he could have been killed with a kitchen knife used for slicing onions.
On the other hand the sniper rifle may have allowed the murderer a method of doing the deed from long and escaping.

There are quotes from him flying about that have been cut or heavily edited and without the context which are designed to make him look bad and people are just sharing them without a second thought. There’s one where he says he hates the word empathy and that it’s a new age word that isn’t helpful. But the full quote says he prefers the concept of compassion and sympathy as they promote togetherness and compassion. That bit has been conveniently edited out. |  |

I found myself agreeing with much of what he had to say — not everything, but certainly a fair amount. What stood out most, however, was how he articulated his views: measured, civil, and thoughtful. Even when hatred was hurled his way, he remained composed, responding with reasoned discourse and engaging expression. That alone deserves recognition.
As for who may have been behind it, a few observations from social media raise questions:
Flight activity: A private jet under the tail number N888KG departed Provo airport an hour after the shooting. Thirty minutes into the flight, it suspiciously dropped off ADS-B tracking — an illegal act — before reappearing about an hour later, headed back to Provo. Why would this aircraft deliberately turn off its radar? Could the shooter have escaped this way?
Political stance: Charlie has recently spoken out about the Israel–Gaza conflict. Once a vocal supporter of Israel, he has lately expressed dissatisfaction with recent developments. Could it be that Mossad or another actor viewed his shift in stance as unacceptable, given his influence and following?

My opinion on the ludicrous second amendment is well documented. Their constitution is built almost entirely on the English bill of rights which was written nearly a hundred years before America even existed and the 800+ year old Magna Carta which failed within weeks of being written. At that time firearms were rare, clunky, took about seventeen working days to reload and were only really available to the wealthy. Mass production wasn’t a thing, every firearm was hand made by a blacksmith. There were no replaceable parts until the mid to late 1800’s.
Now in 2025 any drug addled, mentally ill, angry or politically extreme fool can just stroll into Walmart and pick up devices designed to kill multiple people from hundreds of yards away for a couple of bucks.
The arguments for it are in general ludicrously put together. Ooh we need them to fight back against a tyrannical government. Mate the government has apache helicopters and drones and nuclear bastard weapons. Give your head a wobble. | |
