Clearly Moyes dosent trust him. A total of 0mins after 2 premiership games when Everton needed goals. Hopefully he’s getting home sick.

Who said he has this incredible potential? He's like a scared, homesick, but arrogant teenager with a sulky face.

But he is probably on about a 150k a week. Same.with Fernandes, it's all about ££££££££.

I wouldn't quite go the that amount but you are right about the principle.
Why can't these players realise that a bit of good PR publicity is not always what it seems
Greedy bar stewards basically! Just think what the could have done for their careers just by waiting a year

Absolutely. But they want the £££ right now, on big contracts. They can strut around thinking "I am a Premier League player, ha ha, I'm the best".

The good news is Saints got about 100 million for them both.

Dibling didn't use to prioritise money over his chances of playing games, sadly when he changed agents that seemed to also change

I’m sure the £40k a week over the next 3 years will soften the blow.

£6.25m. Job done.

His time will come, at the moment they are having to play players out of position due to injuries meaning Dewsbury Hall is playing as a ten with Grealish out wide. I think the long term plan is to have Grealish as a ten with Dibling and Ndiaye out wide.

Dibling isn't the finished article as we all know, so why would you think he'd walk into Evertons starting 11?
Also I don't blame him for going. I fail to see how a season in the championship will help him. We all know the PL is miles better and he'll train and learn from far superior players every day.
Finally he could get injured or lose form and the call from the PL might not come again. I'd have been off just like him. Can't blame the player for the way football works.

I dont blame him for moving for the money. Im just surprised Everton can spunk 40mill on some one that they wont give a minute to right now. What did make me laugh was that 5 mins of cup football got him an England u21 call up.

He didn’t move for the money, he moved to a much better team, with much better players, with a much better manager and in a higher division. He was never going to go straight into the first team, but his chance will come. In the meantime he’s training and learning from being around some very good players and being coached by a manager with loads of experience as opposed to the first coupe of years in his professional career.

It will be interesting to see how Grealish and Dibling link up. Dibling was always best when he played alongside Sam Amo-Ameyaw. They had a really good understanding and brought out the best in each other, but they were rarely played together here so we only got fleeting glimpses of what might have been. Good teams are built on partnerships and we have seen very few of them at Southampton in recent years.

You have an overload of players in his position, but Amo-Ameyaw is another talented player we sold as soon as possible (to Strasbourg in Ligue 1). He's still only 19, he's played for England at various age group levels levels, and he just played in the latest England U20 game, 10 days ago.

Are you really surprised that he has not seen any match minutes?

He spent the last half of last season doing his best not to get injured and with the close season being disrupted by rumours of a transfer, I suspect he was not focussed on his fitness. My guess is that he is not yet fully fit. Trying to get into a Moyes team - always very energetic - whilst unfit was never going to be a quick path.

Is he arrogant and "all about the money"?

I have no idea. I don't know him nor those advising him. My own experience of promising players of that age (from a long time ago) is that they are determined to make the grade and all the noise around transfers and money is very much secondary. Yes his agent etc might be greedy but I suspect that the player really doesn't care at this stage in his career.

If he does not get regular appearances in the second half of this season, we might be able to start thinking he had not got what it takes.

In the old days players put playing first team football ahead of being a squad player, you are right he is training with better players, but there is no substitute for playing first team football.

The point being made about Dibling is that 3 years ago he moved to Chelsea and then came to his senses and saw that his path to the first team was non existent so came back to Southampton, he prioritised playing first team football back then over having better coaches etc.

Sadly now it is all about money if someone had offered him more then he would have gone elsewhere

I said it after watching him in a pre season game last season, and I put my head on the block and said he’ll do well and one day play for a top club . He reminded me of a young Le Tissier

It might take a while but he’ll get there. Listen to Solent Toffee he understands Everton’s situation better than us.

They've only played two games since he signed and he missed a big chunk of pre-season when he was training alone. Also, as I've said before, Everton have a few injuries at the moment meaning a couple of players are playing out of position. I think the long term plan is to play him and Ndiaye out wide and have Grealish behind the striker/playing in the number role with Dewsbury Hall dropping into a more midfield role.

His time will come definitely.

He trained in pre season quite a bit and was fit enough to come back into the squad and play at Ipswich.

Five minutes as a sub in the championship probably isnt enough to get up to speed in the premier league.

He's been at Everton 3 weeks now and played in the League cup for them, you would have thought he would have got on the pitch in one of the games, one of the Evertonians I know reckons he would be 5th choice for one of the two wide berths.

I’m sure who the other players are but the way Moyes looks like setting them up, he’s more likely to get played out wide than McNeill at the moment and Alcarez plays in a more central role.

For the first time in years and years, Everton have got a half decent squad and Dibling will be an important part of that.

No he didn’t move for the money. As above he moved to play for a better team, with better players, for a better manager in a better league.

Last season, I wouldn’t have signed for Everton even if they had offered stupid money for him. Similarly a few seasons ago Che Adams was linked to Everton and loads on here were saying why would he sign for Everton over Saints and they had a point. Apart from having being a ‘bigger’ club than Saints, on and off the field Everton were either behind but certainly weren’t ahead of them.

Now is a complete story, new ground, new players, new owners, new optimism.

Everton couldn’t afford to bring a player for the kind of money and have them on the bench. Now they can. It’s not just Dibling, Anan from Bayern, Rolf from Freiburg, Barry from Villarreal. All very young, expensive players who will be brought it gradually and sensibily. It’s all very unlike the Everton of the past ten years.
