We all know we've only won 2 games, against promotoed sides, but we have as eciting a group oif players I remember for a long time. It remids me of many many moons ago when we would sign lower league and non league players and you got the unknown quantity and then so much promise, and eventually the realisation of how good a player you had.

Yeah, I expect there will be times when inexperience tells and it all falls apart, but it's going to be interesting for sure, and with any luck, fun at times.

All true.

After a variety of individual (certainly me) and collective meltdowns over our poor start, these last two games have been 'manna from Stephan'.

Credit is due to 'all' at QPR. However, you're right and we should manage expectations. Albeit things rosier today then they did three weeks ago!

Well done the Rangers!!

So if you believe the press next week we have Smyth, Chair and Poku back and JCS closer. A fit JCS would always start in my books, but assume he is some weeks away still. JS has some decisions to make even just for who is on the bench? Exciting is the right word and such a relief we are not just relying on Illias

What excites me about this JS team so far is that for the Charlton Saito goal and for Kone’s goal yesterday there is this alien concept of having three attackers, one left, one centre and one right speedily approaching the opponents box with the ball being brought quickly in behind them through the centre. It must terrify defences. Koki kept going whereas Madsen played a perfectly weighted ball exactly where Kone needed it to be then BOOM.

More of this please.

The two bits of business that I really like are Burrell and Vale. Kone is obviously a statement signing but we spent a bit more, but Burrell and Vale are (early on) are looking like bargains. Burrell has the hunger and pace that we have been begging for in a striker, and Vale looks like a very tasty playmaker. The play between him and Madsen for the second goal was top class.

I'm increasingly excited after the travesty that was the Coventry game.

What excites me is that we appear to be capable of scoring different types of goals now that we have pace, power and skill in our forwards. Plus, although Kone is likely to be our leading scorer this season, I don't think we're dependent on him.

For me it is the depth that is impressive IF we can get them back, that is a big IF....

Having Frei, Field, Hayden, Poku, Kolli, Dembele, JCS all in the wings, would be light years better than some of teams previously that included Duke-McKenna, Gubbins, Dozzell and Kakay etc.

Surely our wage bill has got to be top 12 or so now?

I agree in that there are things to be excited about, and I don't mean to be negative on what was a good result, but we continue to show the same failings defensively with a porous midfield and being caught out against by balls over the top. If it wasn't for woeful finishing by Wrexham it could have been a very different result.

At last we have a few players that you know are capable of doing something to change a game.. That added pace makes all the difference. I'm beginning to prefer Vale to Chair because he looks for the pass whereas Chair only passes when he has exhausted possibilities of a shot. This slows things down.

Vale is particularly pleasing. I've also liked what I've seen of him. He looks assured, unhurried, and impactful. Also, good for him! He's had to overcome a serious injury early in his career and hopefully he can stay healthy and push on from here.

Early days, played two promoted sides, squad rotation for the customary reasons etc., but hard to see how Messrs Chair, Poku, and Smyth walk right back into the Starting XI given the last two games.

Long may Jools have such headaches.

I agree with you here swiss, and I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more comment about how bread and butter punts upfield causes us far more trouble than it should.

However, the threat we now possess in attacking positions will soon get noticed. It should keep opposition full backs from getting too far forward, and will probably tie up one central midfielder too. In other words, it will begin to blunt attacking numbers against us and hopefully give us less holes to fill when we defend.

That's my hope anyway..

The difference we have is pace and power something we have neglected to look at for years
As well as up and conning players from the leagues below
Celar vs Kone is night and day as signings
If we can get Poku fit then we have some options imo
I still would like to see Kone & Frey up top together as I think they could be a real handful
Fair play to the management team and staff for lifting the players after that Coventry game

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

More than this, there's a team there, not necessarily a group.

You can see they are all together and it seems that personal differences seem to have been put aside. We've had 2s and 3s but it feels like there's almost a collection of 11 as a whole.

Tie in the fact there's youth but with experience of games and it's exciting times.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

It's hard to.imagine JS changing yesterday's side at all. Irrespective of who else is fit.

I think its also coaching approaches as well. Julian seems to have the new group of players confidence and is conveying well what is being looked for. You can also see during the match when the subs are coming on each time there is a clear purpose expected for each of them both in system and individual role. As the manager and team get more familiar with each other, hopefully we will have a competitive side with options. It doesnt seem like we have had that for a while, when there has been a big gap to what is available from the bench to affect games. I like it.

Never knowingly understood

Add Mbengue to the list of reasons to be cheerful. He's a monster of a defender on early showing and a nutter...what's not to like.

After Coventry and, if I'm being honest, the last few seasons I was a bit done with all this bullshit but I'm a simple QPR fan. I don't need much. Titles, cups and such like. I know that shit'll never happen.

But to be able to go somewhere and serve them three helpings of hooped dick, that's what it's all about. Just be a real team. Not a good/great team but just a real one that takes part.

I don't disagree, and Wrexham's defending was everything you could ask for at times, I'm not saying we are getting promoted, it's just nice to have an exciting lof of players, and as others have said what looks like a great team spirit, especially after what happened a few weeks ago. We just seem to have a number of players you look forward to seeing on the pitch, and still to develop for quite a few.
