I saw he played 84 mins and on the highlights there was a great turn and pass for Kone's goal. How was he the rest of the match?

Brilliant, Lower 6th Form Psychology Studies heh.

Hopefully with your positive thinking we'll get our £3.5m quid back sometime soon.

Ah, of course I'm not surprised that your kneejerk response to having your erroneous analysis debunked is insult and irrelevant sarcasm.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Just listening to the W12 podcast and they were discussing Madsen and they gave these stats about him for QPR this season:
Chances created - top
And then this one......
Ball recovery - top.

Not sure what else the bloke can do for some on here.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

So it is Vales role to drop into that space to play through ball to Madsen and....

Madsen has won back most possession in the team this season...

Let's agree to differ...and that's not irrelevant sarcasm, whatever that is these days.

Confirmation bias isn’t on the A level specification, not for AQA anyway, so is unlikely to be taught as a stand alone subject, notwithstanding it could be introduced as a concept when discussing Zimbardo’s prison study, Where Zimbardo’s interpretation of his findings of a few ‘prison guards’ over-estimated the role of the brutalising environmental conditions. Similarly, John Bowlby’s maternal deprivation hypothesis can be argued follows confirmation bias, as he used some spurious statistics to argue neglect and maternal deprivation in early years would lead to delinquent behaviour in adolescence, and in extreme circumstances, affectionless psychopathology. Such claims were based on studies of children he had in his institution and using retrospective data, which opens itself up to both confirmation bias and errors in the validity of the data. With this in mind, Bowlby should have been more cautious with his findings, which arguably set back post-war progress in equality in the world of work between males and females.

I have you right on those points,

Kone is not a grafter like Burrell and he won't see the like of Conor Cody's defending again in his lifetime, but boy does that lad know where the goal is,

Teams only performed against the expected weaker teams this season so the Managers maybe been bailed out by Kone's finishing & now Burrells,

Bringing on Frey & Dembele to see the game out before bringing Field & Hadyn on was not exactly Warnock'esque.

Manager still learning this League and his players, let's hope he's a quick learner.

I actually liked the first 2 substitutions. Rather then drop deep and try and hold on against a team who want to 'stick it in the mixer', he tried to seize the initiative. Brave, attacking, and it worked.

I was going to put this in the JS thread but I agree. One thing I've liked has been that when we're starting to lose control of games, Stephan brings on attacking players to try and regain the impetus.

Will it always work? Probably not. But I'd rather let in an equaliser going for a 3rd to win a game rather than concede while we park the bus for a point.

I've spoken about this before, but there's no need to have binary opinions!

You can think Madsen is rubbish and think it was a good pass!

You can think someone is the bees knees and admit they have a shocker!

Both things can be true!

He can keep doing it, for more than 5 games. Seen loads of social media stuff like this in response to this graphic, like it was my imagination watching him try to hide in his own shirt for the last 12 months.

Before we all start this revisionist wánkathon, let's not forget he's only 4 games away from a disgraceful performance at Watford, which we've seen a lot more of than the recent showings. I'm also not especially surprised that he's looking better just as we've started to bypass midfield more and put 4 decent attackers ahead of him - people that actually make proper runs and want the ball...

If he's turned the corner and we've found a way to get the best out of him that's superb, because he was a sizeable investment and he seems a very decent lad all things considered, but it'll take more than this as a sample size before I'll hear the I told you so's

Isn't it also revisionist to completely forget the end of last season where he was arguably one of, if not the best player in the squad? 4 goal contributions in those last 6 games. We're now talking about an 11 game span where he's shown end product, and recently much improved defensive work. Pleased for him for making a turnaround as some of the abuse he has received is horrific. By no means he is the final product but I hope some "supporters" can lay off him a little bit more now

1 Assist in 5 Games against weaker teams in the Division is a poor return for our big money investment in my opinion,

Especially as Vale & Conor Coady were more deserving of that 1 Assist,

Most duels won, I mean seriously, does a single person believe this stat?

Not hammering the guy but one of these was likely a very weak header that led to Charltons equaliser.

I hope the lad comes good, but those Stats reflect what I see when watching Vale or Burrell, as I can still only recall 1 quality ball grom Madsen this season, for Smyth v Charlton.

The graphic has nothing to do with the last 12 months, it's the last 5 games.

And no one is saying told you so, merely pointing out that he is doing well and he can't do much more.
What's not to like about a QPR player doing well?

No-one is being revisionist or saying I told you so. That's just making things up. I don't think anyone has said Madsen had a great fiirst six months in a QPR shirt.

All people are saying is don't write him off, judge him by more recent performances as it seems some of the criticisms relate to his earlier QPR career more than how he's playing now. And saying it's all of the last twelve months is unfair as he was definitely better at the end of last season.

It's no surprise that having decent attackers who make runs is important for someone who is good at spotting runs and finding a pass.

I don't think he'll be great in matches where we want an all action hard-tackling midfielder, I'm pretty sure Hayden was brought in for that. But I do think he'll be a useful part of the squad over the 46 matches. Watford wasn't great but no-one covered themselves in glory. Playing with an out of form Sam Field in a two man midfield against a generally physical team with a makeshift RB and an unfit Chair in front of you isn't an experiment Stephan is likely to repeat. And if he's played well in particular games like the Wrexham one then I'll happily give him credit for that rather than harking back repeatedly to his admittedly terrible early QPR career.

Madsen much better today, that was a decent 90 minutes, not spectacular but involved in the game for the full 90,

Vale played very well but in terms of end product Saito was key again, great team performance.

Madsen was great today, his best all around game for sure. This system suits him but he's also doing all the championship midfield stuff we hadn't seen. Love it, keep it up!
