Where was our chairman? 00:47 - Sep 16 with 3158 viewsSouthamptonfan

Southampton's biggest game of the season and no sign of Solak. Did he not want to experience the south coast derby? Or perhaps he is just here to make money and has no interest in the disaster that keeps happening on the pitch. No sign of him at the game.

Perhaps it has something to do with this?

From thefinancialanalyst.net:

"Dragan Solak, the billionaire owner of Southampton FC, has intensified his legal dispute with London-based private equity firm BC Partners, alleging a debt of £170 million. Solak, who has been the majority owner of Southampton since January 2022 through his multi-club venture Sport Republic, has petitioned Dutch authorities to probe what he describes as a “serious governance crisis” at United Group, the telecoms and media company he established but which is now primarily owned by BC Partners.

Solak and CEO Victoriya Boklag were unexpectedly dismissed last week, a move Solak interprets as retaliation for his lawsuit against BC Partners-owned holding company Summer Parent. This lawsuit seeks €200 million (£171 million) in unpaid bonuses, which Solak claims were due to him and the management team following the €1.5 billion sale of subsidiaries in Serbia. Solak contends that BC Partners’ abrupt leadership change violates Dutch law and jeopardizes United Group’s future and value. He expresses skepticism about the new management’s ability to maintain United Group’s performance and pledges to vigilantly monitor their actions."

Sport Republic OUT.

Poll: Who do we want as the new permanent Saints manager?

The top people within an organisation (say BP, P&O, Lloyds Bank etc.) are busy individuals and simply don’t have enough hours in the day to attend minor things such as PR events, new branch openings or the like.

Solak is a multi millionaire and cannot be everywhere. That said, am sure if AlfieHouse or Solent’s Adam Blackmore had of touched base and said to hook up for a coffee (or premium burger / Lager) he would have been there.

Has anyone ever seen Solak and John Westwood in the same room together?

Asking for a friend in Denmark.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Personally, I would be happy if he were never seen at St Mary’s again along with all of his Sports Republic management team.

I was more concerned with where Damion Downs was, in truth.

I'm glad people are talkimg about Solak.

He's in charge and he's to blame (with Gao) for the mess we're in. Sports Republic is just a company he's put in place to manage his businesses.

His yacht, called Tirea, is currently on its way to Brač, a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. It's due to dock at 2.00 pm.

It's worth $10M and has an annual running cost of $1M.

It's a tough one - but watch that dirge at St Mary's on a miserable Sunday lunchtime... or cruise around the beautiful Adriatic Sea in a luxury motor yacht with sunshine galore.

That's not a yacht that's going to compete in the Premier League.

Some yacht for sure, cost approx £280m to buy and is available to lease at €3m per week - plus expenses!! Crew of 40 to keep it going. Wonder if Khan comes to a game we would see it moored up alongside Fulham’s new state of the art main stand with the swimming pool and terrace built into the roof?
