Yes we did. We switched off. The reason for that maybe tiredness after Wednesday but we gave them too many opportunities to score. They had to take one.

Free header in the 94th min. Unforgivable. The subs killed us again. It was park the bus time after 70 mins. We never look3d like scoring in the second half.

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Match day thread on 14:47 - Sep 20 with 2630 views | RichardO | Didn't get the rub of the green with that offside decision but we didn't get things to stick up top understandable really as lots of high balls up the park, got to get ball into space on the floor out wide in behind defenders instead of getting stuck in the congestion in the middle caused by Birmingham . Think sometimes we need to put the two up top as wingers out wide and a centreforward get isolated. Pushed back without enough experience to turn the game back in our favour. Hard fought game but Birmingham worth the win in the end.

Two games in a short period of time killed us together with not using substitutions early enough.

Very frustrating A very poor Second half,We gave Birmingham too much space out wide to put the ball in the box ,this seems to be a pattern, when are we going to learn to mark properly, the amount of crosses they put in late on you felt they were going to nick it , we can’t keep doing it but we do !! The Lino got it wrong for our disallowed goal Ben lost Dykes for the goal and you could see he was furious with himself Yalcouye should have come on earlier for Franco and Benson for Ronald and Vipotnik should have stayed on We tired late on gave the ball away cheaply and Brum attacked us at will through the middle and out wide and we didn’t seem to be able to stop them

Did mention on another thread about expecting substitutions at half time. Lots of what ifs in football in a tight game manager is dammed if he makes the changes which affect the game in the wrong way, needed the changes earlier because of the tight game scheduling and also things like Tymon's booking should have been considered along with the work he puts in, Samuel- Smith looks handy enough if a defence is struggling then sometimes you have to bolster it. We started to struggle. [Post edited 20 Sep 15:19]

Second half,Birmingham marked our midfield and wide men tighter and stopped us using the width and getting the ball in to the box , we on the other hand gave them more space in midfield and out wide and it cost us ….again

First two substitutions after 74 minutes, next on 89th minutes, last two substitutions on 97th minute. Makes no sense after such a short turnaround in matches. That's two league matches in a row Sheehan has got it wrong in my opinion. Granted he got it right on Wednesday, but we had nothing to lose then because we were behind. We have a lot of quality now its up to Sheehan to utilise them properly or I'm sure the owners will be asking questions.

Why are you blaming Key when the cross came from Tymon's side?
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Match day thread on 16:05 - Sep 20 with 1987 views | Dr_Winston | A game management issue lets us down for the second league game in a row. It's far from a trait unique to Sheehan, we've been here many times with managers over the years, even back to Brendan, but I cannot fathom why we try to see games out instead doing the opposite and going on the offensive. We had plenty of bench options and could have been making changes from 60-65 minutes in but waited too long. The momentum shifted and then we were struggling. Yalcouye should have been on a lot sooner. Arguably so should have been Benson and maybe even Widell (who must be wondering why he bothered coming here). There's nothing to lose by being bold when being timid costs you points anyway.

Some are so strong in their like or dislike of players they can't watch a match objectively.

Rather like some posters who when seeing a,username they don’t like, jump in with hate speech the first priority Seems you have joined up with Winston again Why not discuss Key gives space away , is often in the wrong position and is not a good tackler at all Now if you disagree say so but no need to come up with snide shite I honestly thought you better People always disappoint though Twenty years of this Both our full backs are weak It’s why crosses kill us Now if you think that is not the case then fine but Dave this site from such crap Thanks

It's a simple question. Why are you blaming Key for not stopping a cross when he was on the other side of the pitch?

Lots of teams have marked our wingers tighter and filled the midfield, we really need to be looking at the forward balls to feet but insist on two yard passes in the middle of the pitch which if an opposition team commits to smothering seems quite easy to stifle. Nice incisive passing to players on the move and backed up with fluid support to find the spaces left by opposition's tight marking.. Think our confidence dropped as the tiredness set in. Simple answer My comments did not apertson to the goal Read again and you will note I slag off Tymon who simply afforded space for a cross Watch Key though and ask yourself how he appears to an opposition winger Simple really Some will feel quicker down today Still, a better riposte from you

You’re correct, if we’d made Brum defend the pressure wouldn’t have been in our box as much As I posted earlier we have to stop giving wide men so much space to get the ball and attack us , a lot of the teams in this division have good pacey wingers and it will be a long painful season if we don’t learn to mark and defend wide areas better ,both our fullbacks are good going forward but not the best defenders and need their wingers to help them more but this is definitely is something that can be rectified on the training ground As regards substitutions ,Sheehan needs to learn he must make them sooner if needed ,this thing about waiting until the hour mark is crap ,if change is needed sooner just do it , our bench is much stronger now with more quality than we’ve had for many years so there isn’t really an excuse he just needs to be more decisive
