If Boro win their game at home to WBA tonight, they'll be 10-points ahead of us already.
It's very early days yet, but I'd rather be in their shoes than ours.
We're all assuming/hoping that we will pick up and start playing good football, climb the table & look a class above. But in order to do that, you have to start putting those good performances in & win games regularly.
Nothing I've seen so far indicates that we are about to do that. |

You are right big clubs do spend time in the lower leagues, after all only 15 seasons ago we were playing in the 3rd division.
Clubs go down and stay down mainly by having bad transfer windows and badly managed from the top. [Post edited 19 Sep 16:17]

It’s far too early to judge with loads of new signings coming in , we have bought some top championship players so let’s hope they gel . Yes we’ve gone downhill a bit but time to worry will be after about 10 games if we’re not performing. I see middlesboro won again tonight they are already starting to pull away and we have them next week . |  |

We've bought some Championship players, but whether they are top Championship players is debatable. Have any of them ever finished in the top places in the Championship or even been in the Championship Team of the Season? Are they ever likely to? I guess we are about to find out, but It wouldn't surprise me if the clubs that sold us those players, finish higher than we do.
My impression of our summer transfer activity is that we've spent a lot to build an average Championship squad; not a top one. Sport Republic seem to get less for their money than other owners do. [Post edited 20 Sep 9:55]
