Interesting to see how these compare throughout the season.

Selling Kelman and getting Kone for a similar fee is astonishingly good business & I still can't wrap my head around how it is possible.

True. I guess the project gets what the project wants.

The project will set us free.

I think Kelman alongside Kone would have been good to see but from what I've seen of Charlton they have created nothing for him and he's the type of striker who needs service, shame for him it's not working out so far.

It’s possible because anyone who scores 21 goals in a calendar season, in league 1, the division below, and 27 goals all in, aged 23 and under is hot property.

That’s how the market works. He would also of been worth even more had he not been in the last year of his deal. How you use this type of striker, and get the best out of him, is another topic entirely.

As for Kone, he scored less goals, with a lot more penalties, is a different type of striker and was a year younger. Also had only 1 year left on his deal.

Swings and roundabouts.

My Charlton mate reckons Nathan Jones continues to play Kelman as a loan striker to justify the spend on him, but it doesn't suit him. Reckons they might loan Kelman out.

Despite him not scoring Charlton have started the season pretty well and have the same points as us.

Yeah my Charlton mate said similar, and that most supporters can't understand why they signed him when he doesn't fit their team or way of playing, which is all very familiar.

Feel a bit sorry for Kelman to be honest, not really the opportunity he would have hoped for.

I’m guessing we haven’t moved the needle yet on any of the “added bonusses” that went with the Kelman sale.

Pity for the lad and I wonder why he was so hell bent on leaving (if rumours are true).

Kelman 0 goals and 0 assists in 9 appearances, Celar 0 goals and 0 assists in only 4 Bundesliga 2 appearances (injured?) and Alfie Lloyd is yet to play any football.

Ifs and buts, but we could already have been staring down the barrell of a gun here if Kone and Burrell weren’t shipped in.

But Kelman was offered the opportunity back here and for whatever reason he wanted none of it.

How much sympathy do I have for him given how we invested in his development? Not much I’m afraid.

Wish him well but as you say wasn't that interested in us so we move onto bigger and better things with Kone

Kelman loaned out having failed to impress, has a great season that increases his value, we sell a player untested at this level for a very good price (he didn't want to be here anyway) and end up with Kone who seems a far better and versatile player with a higher ceiling.

An absolute touch really.

Charlton appear to have signed Conor Washington.

On reflection, maybe we have got our own back on Charlton for the transfer of Macauley Bonne to us - Now looks who's laughing

It is easy to slate our former player but I note reports that Charlton system does not suit his style

I am wondering if Kelman extended here would we extend Frey?

Not sure if a strike force of Kone, Burrell, Kelman is something we look forward to, has to be something?

We sold him to Charlton. Don't think he'll be back in a hurry.

Would we have signed Kone if we hadn't sold Kelman though? Both very similar fees. Could imagine us going into the season with Kelman, Burrell, Frey instead which doesn't sound anywhere near as good.
