Kolli up front in a two 10:09 - Oct 8 with 4425 views | FDC | Listened to the W12 pod on the way in to work this morning, they mentioned the experiment with Frey and Kone up front against Oxford, and that Kolli might make a better partner for Kone for games where Burrell isn't available. I hadn't thought about this before, but Kolli always struggled as a lone striker, but might be much better suited to working off a target man like Kone. He's dropped off the radar a bit, but by all accounts did well when he came on against Bristol City, and could hopefully benefit from our new system this season as part of a rotation up front. We know he knows where the goal is.

I agree with your last point, there's nothing good to come with that behaviour but I just don't like that being used as a stick to bash Kolli with. Hopefully it can be resolved, as for the man himself, he wouldn't have signed a long term contract recently if he wanted to go to Nice etc |
The contract was a no-brainer as one, he’s by all accounts a very decent kid who loves it here, and two, when they refused the clubs suggestion to go see out his previous contract on loan in Saudi, the club had to fold and give in to their ‘optimistic’ demands. Since that point he’s had the long term future of a Trump cabinet member. They won the battle but lost the war. The Nice thing happened because he was going there until it collapsed late in the day.

I mean it’s a bit of a daft post as we could’ve signed Saito at any point in the 6 months prior to when we did…. He missed the whole preseason here and our first two games for one reason - we couldn’t afford him until it was clear the Eze money was coming.

But he's also being left out of squads completely at times, only making the bench in 1 of the last 3 games after specifically being highlighted by the manager. Assuming he didn't have a knock, do we not think there's a reason for that? Not even on the bench in a game where Frey is getting an hour? I'm not saying there's a character issue, but I wonder what he's missing with this manager and coaching staff that puts him on the periphery.

Kolli up front in a two on 21:03 - Oct 8 with 268 views | LazyFan | We shall need him soon as Winter is Coming. He looks comfortable on the ball, and Kolli can get the odd goal now and again, and we need that in this Champ. We loaned Llyod, and that was the correct decision. We don't know when Chair will be back, and if good, if Burrel gets injured, then we shall need him. Keep him and play him some games, simples.

I think it's a wait and see, his inclusion in key minutes at Bristol says to me that there's no issues and JS trusts him. Oxford our bench options (midfielders and attackers) were Burrell, Saito, Smyth, Madsen, Varane and Morgan. After international break we have Chair and Poku returning. Competition to get into this squad is the highest I can remember in recent years. I think he should be getting minutes over Frey but don't be surprised when players miss out as we simply don't have the space for all of them
Kolli up front in a two on 21:44 - Oct 8 with 183 views | Lblock | It feels to me if you mark your card with the current regime (Nourryafia) then you’re done. With that in mind I don’t think young Rayan would be making first team squads or getting vital minutes away from home. I’m hopeful that means he’ll remain the fold. As noted, he will get chances as Kone will get suspended / need resting at some stage; Burrell likewise and his piston like hamstrings and calves need to be managed; Frey is Frey and it’s a shame his body don’t allow runs of games plus I don’t believe there’s anyone pushing from the Dev Squad to do a strikers job. Looking forward to him doing a job (here that is……not in a Trump cabinet)

Kolli up front in a two on 15:14 - Oct 8 by BAWHoops | I actually see Chair as the Burell replacement. Stephan says he wants him in the middle influencing things and you've already got Saito, Smyth, Vale, Poku and Dembele to play on the wings so don't think he plays there. Kolli could drop even further down the order |
Chair doesn't have anything like Burrell's footspeed. He's also is a ball "keeper." Too many touches to provide regular fodder for an open striker. That's not a knock on him at all BTW. I actually think he'd make a great #8, to complement and lead Madsen and/or Morgan.
