After yesterday there appears to be two definite camps developing on should Will go as we are useless or he should be given a chance and it's not his fault we can't score. So my question is how much input did/does he have in recruitment as he leaves our two attacking big money signings out, plays 3 centre backs and 2 holding midfielders and prior to the transfer deadline closing said we did not need another striker and was happy with what we had. He was also here in May so had all the summer, so how can he not be at fault for not teaching our players where the opposition's goal is? |  | | |  |

It’s not that bad.
They know where the goal is but just can’t put the ball in it.

How can any manager play all these players without some being subs ?
I dont see either Jander or Charles as CDM either.
Theyre far more comfortable as two no 8s .

Yes your stats are correct but how many looked like going in, sorry but I saw the game completely different to you, we could of been there all afternoon and not challenged there goalie. How many saves did he make, I would say as many as Alex, zero, all of our "shots" or as I would call them back passes, were straight at there keeper? We played a bad Swansea side at home and were way too defensive, sorry but I blame the manager for this. Even at half time, go to a back 4? | | | |

He did make a few saves that needed saving as they say as Pat has mentioned , although most of the others were routine and fairly simple to stop |  |

If WS insists on playing 3 ctr backs he's got to educate those ctr backs into being more flexible & not just defend.
When Our central midfielders commit to going forward then one of the ctr back must step into a central defensive role in midfield.
It's not rocket science it's all about players understanding their roles & being prepared to cover each other when players are out of position.
I actually think the 3 ctr backs he's been using (Edwards + Wood + Quarshie) are starting to look sound.
Edwards occasionally played as holding midfielder when on loan to QPR last season so he could easily be the one to step forward as a holding midfielder. [Post edited 20 Oct 10:09]
