Never been before. Looking at options online and the Alexandra Arms looks like it could be the winner.

We usually head into town, got the usual array of Wetherspoons, Wakabout etc but you'll need a taxi to the ground if you do that

I wouldn't go there, it's in the ghetto.

Went to a big Harvester type thing last season (perhaps even a Harvester) which was more than ok and close to the ground. Outside bar, mixed but friendly, easy walk from station and to the ground.

I just prefer to drink in a pub with a little less conversation.

You can go to any pub you want but stay off of my blue suede shoes.

The last few times I've been, the Brunswick has been home fans only. We usually do the Alex now, but we went in the Smithfield this year, which was a great pub too. Loads of different beers and quick service considering how many people get in there before a game. Both the Alex and Smithfield are away-friendly/tolerant.

A few of us staying over Saturday night, though not at the heartbreak hotel. Any recommendations for a decent curry house?

As a former Derby resident, I'd recommend The Smithfield as well. 15 mins walk from ground.

Anyone got a link to the clip of the fookin' w***ers guy on the TV game show. That's a stone cold LfW classic.

There’s nothing worse than slow service in a pub before a match (a little less conversation and a little more action is what I say). I’ve got the Smithfield on my list of good pubs in Derby but usually end up in the Alexandra. Good selection of beers and bar snacks (the peanut butter, banana and bacon cobs are particularly good!).

The Brunswick was definitely home fans only last season.

The Alexandra is just near there. Last season it was busy but a very good pub and no problem for away fans.

If I went in to The Brunswick before the game I would miss the game.

It was the Alex that used to have pub rabbits, think they are now no more. Both there and the Brunswick are great pubs, no idea what they are like on matchday though! But the Brunswick was the last place (non Wetherspoons) in England where I got change out of a fiver for 2 pints, probably nearly 7 or 8 years ago mind. Still, it was very cheap even at the time
