Oh dear, we've had a mare
A mare 30 mins really. Not exactly inspiring for the rest of the game but certainly workmanlike and holding our own. Shame, love to have gone above Millwall.

Whether through tiredness or because he is not that physical Kakay bottled/pulled out of a 50/50 ball that lead to the breakaway for their 3rd goal.
Once Jordy went off our defence looked a car crash. Whether Kane and Kakay were trying to make each other look bad I don't know, but we could not string 2 passes together on that right hand side coming out of defence.
Dickie and Johansen both seem to have started to get sloppy with passes recently or maybe there is a disconnect with the other players not reading their intentions correctly.
I think with the remaining fixtures we have had our moment in the sun these last couple of months and i would imagine another few losses now as more experiments to starting line ups start giving starts and opportunity to the fringe players to prove themselv
"Whether Kane and Kakay were trying to make each other look bad I don't know, but we could not string 2 passes together on that right hand side coming out of defence."
Spot on, I thought the same. Possibly we are reading too much into it? There was, what seemed to me though, a lack of understanding between them tonight.

It is the inconsistency and the hope that kills you with us. Was hoping we might get to a points total towards the mid 60s, but looks like we might just limp to 60 points. Still it has been much improved in 2021. Not expecting much at Boro or Swansea.

Well I know its a game that doesn't mean much to us at this stage of the season but that 2nd half performance (apart from Dyke's brilliant goal) was pitiful and made me quite angry with their lack of effort or desire to get forward at all or defend properly.
Dickie's worst performance of the season for me, Niko proving again why Wallace is streets ahead of him, Kakay doing that great forward run for our goal then deciding to turn and pass back at every opportunity after that, centre midfield disappearing altogether apart from the occasional pass straight to the opposition, etc. For a good part of that second half we struggled to get the ball into Rotherham's half, let alone near their goal! Awful and late subs by Warbs again, final straw being not using the 5th sub at all to bring on Albert to at least get crosses into the forwards.
Dreadful all around: only positives were another good Dykes performance and promising stuff from Kelman first half.

60 points would be amazing haul and set us up mentally for a play off push next year.

Really odd game tonight. My take for what it’s worth is that we looked pretty comfortable until they scored and had the slightly better of it. The change at half time was a problem because against a big physical side we replaced Jordi with Kane. Kakay seemed to go to the right side of the 3 with Dickie in the middle. I thought that reshuffling of the two positions didn’t work, Dickie seemed less assured by far and Kakay less dominant in the air that Dickie had been.
Conceding two poor goals in 3 mins knocked the players back and as a team you saw the collective mentality of the Winter - very little resilience or idea of how to turn it around, lots of long balls or overplayed passes. There is a lot of inexperience in Nico, Kakay, Kane, Bonne, Dykes, Kelman, Thomas etc. Barely 100 games at this level between them and when they all ply it shows.
The changes seemed to make us progressively worse and I think that was due to tactics - Warbs dropped SJ to some form of quarter back/ defensive midfield role and took off Field for Chair and Kelman for Willock. That left us completely conceding the midfield. Presumably the hope was for SJ to look after the ball and get it into Willock/Chair/Bonne/Dykes and that Rotherham would struggle to live with all four but it actually just led to long balls that their defenders picked up easily and broke into a non existent Rangers midfield.
Soooo many times a Rotherham player stepped out to chest the ball down and come away from a long ball and then play a ball into the centre of our half for their Striker to came forward, chest down and start an attacking move.
The manager and players will hopefully have learnt quite a lot from tonight and from a positive perspective Dykes did really well with the goal and Thomas/ Kelman did okay and will be better for the start.
We also know that the subs when played together will turn out this sort of performance and whether it is resilience or lack of experience with difficult game situations I’m not sure. Changing Wallace, Chair and Willock, three of our best players in 2021 was perhaps one change too many.

It looked like we decided to go on the beach during the game rather than before it started. Two poor away performances which I do suspect has something to do with us being well safe. I think Rotherham are playing again Thursday so they could have played within themselves for an hour, stay in the game and then bring on fresh players and up their efforts for the closing quarter. If that was the plan it worked well.
Only Swansea have anything to play for in our final fixtures as Norwich will be up by the time we play them. Hopefully if we are chilling out so too our opponents so we might get a couple more wins. We don't win three away games on the trot, when no home games in between, so it was unlikely we would pick up 9 points when Rotherham and Swansea have targets to achieve. We have met ours so realistically Boro is the more likely game to win.
Maybe Jo Jo realises his time is up with us with Fulham 6 points adrift of Newcastle who have a game in hand and that they will want him back. That is the thing that springs to mind for his display tonight like he won't be around for much longer.

Play off push ??? Next year ??
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

We’re only 5 wins off it now and we was shit in 2020.
You telling me you don’t think we can add five wins next year? I know it’s hard to swallow after that shit but thankfully the table extends to more than the last 90 minutes.
Maybe we should have a wager? This is the calendar table:
There is no doubt we have picked up more points and played better against the teams above us. We need to do the same next season but there has to be a marked improvement when we play the teams near the drop zone compared to this season.

That'll be the last £10 i spend on ppv away games, particularly if we're going to be 'experimenting' for the rest of season.
If you don't experiment when you are sitting in mid-table, when do you? In meaningless pre-season friendlies? This is exactly the right time to be trying different players in different positions and different formations. It is not entirely accurate, because the players are knackered and will hopefully be nice and fresh next August, but it is still a lot more meaningful than Sollyhull in July

Cheer up. 'Limping to 60 points' is not so bad. It's only a couple of months ago that I was accused of being wildly optimistic for suggesting such a tally.

Il have a bet with you No chance will we be in the play offs next year Our two best players are loan players who must be on at least 30k a week so we won’t be picking them up next year, take them out and we would be 5/6 places further down Our fullbacks are below average and the back ups are poor We have a Dutch version of Joel lynch The likes of WBA, Fulham, sheff Utd will make the championship stronger next year Warburton is not a manager to get us promoted,
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot

How about £50.
More than 70 points I win Less than 70 points you win.

Optimistic bet given that we don't know what personnel we will have next season. For example, if we sell Dieng in the summer I seriously doubt we can replace him with a keeper who will match up.
