A quick anecdote about Ainsworth: My mate and I were at a game when he was playing for us, I think the away game at West Brom, when we lost 5-1. After about 70 minutes, the board went up and the manager was taking Ainsworth off.
My mate said: "Why's he taking Gareth off, he's playing well".
I said: "Look at his face, mate, it's purple, he's run himself into the ground. He's spent!"
