Substitutes 11:14 - Apr 10 with 2965 views | superstan | Excuse my ignorance but we both made 6 substitutions last night, I always thought only 5 were allowed, must be a rule change I’ve missed, apologies if covered before.

Clever move. Didn't know you could get a concussion in your ankle.
Substitutes on 11:30 - Apr 10 with 2594 views | LazyFan | Well, they did score while he was receiving treatment, so Oxford could hardly complain. That's how bad Oxford were; they only scored when we had 10 on the pitch.

It was the Oxford player who was hurt in the collision with Field that was concussion subbed, not Field himself.

I was sat on that side of the pitch, and looking at Field I'm pretty certain he went off for concussion and nothing else.

Field was ready to come back on the pitch, but when he started jogging his ankle went. One of the few times that watching on television gave a better view of the incident rather than being at the game.

Yeah, this. Hopefully it’s just a minor sprain and he’ll be back soon. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Substitutes on 12:48 - Apr 10 with 2135 views | Essex_Ranger | Both subs went down as a concussion substitution, however, Fields was definitely his ankle stopping him carrying on but we played it off as concussion to get the extra sub. When the sky camera panned to the incident close up Field was holding his ankle from the start but the medic kept checking his head every now and then, presumably to show it was “concussion” Sneaky move, but fair play for thinking tactically about it. Assume it’s a reoccurrence of the injury he has been out with.
Substitutes on 13:15 - Apr 10 with 2048 views | Rassilon | I've just had a quick look at the FA website and I believe that if one team uses a "Concussion" substitute, the other team gets an extra general substitute.
Substitutes on 13:23 - Apr 10 with 1982 views | derbyhoop | I believe, as a rule, that it is 5 on 3 occasions. But they seem to have built in some wiggle room. Field, apparently, went to hospital for a concussion check but it did look like his ankle, again was the main issue.

This is right. Oxford made a concussion sub, which means both teams get 6 subs instead of 5 and can make changes on 4 occasions instead of the normal 3. It doesn't matter whether Field was concussion or ankle

Exactly this - they had a concussion sub so we get one free. Not able to manage it quickly enough though - as Clive was saying* at the game. *Feel free to interpret this Peroni fuelled advice being offered to Marti and Xavi across the ground in whichever way you think it went. 🤔 [Post edited 10 Apr 13:43]

So if you've used all your subs just kick an opponent in the head.

I think he actually hurt his ankle and concussion from the same incident . When he sat up he was clearly dazed and went very pale indeed . But jarred his ankle on landing too and before the physio came on he was clearly holding it . Read this morning that he went to hospital for the concussion, was that confirmed?

Yeah Marti did say that, he didnt mention his ankle flairing up at all. If your dizzy, your going to be walking a bit awkwardly, so its more likely its nothing to do with his ankle. Hopefully he is fit in time for Saturday.

If he was concussed, then for his own safety and wellbeing, he shouldn't be playing on Saturday

Television is always better than the 'real' thing. This season, most of the time, its mediation has thankfully saved me from getting too close to QPR. That way, I can think of it all as a foolish film (with replays for anything I need to re-visit).

Substitutes on 09:01 - Apr 11 with 741 views | PlanetHonneywood | When I looked at the Arsenal and Real line ups the other night, the former had ten players on their bench, while the latter had 12. I appreciate it's ultimately about how many you can bring on, but are teams -maybe just in European games- able to name mucho subs if they like? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/cx256773e2yt#RealMadrid
