Playing the Yoof (and reserves) 00:08 - Apr 17 with 3905 views | Hoopsie | Considering: 1. We are virtually safe from relegation; 2. A lot of first team players are going OOC and not sure who re-signed; 3. The squad is ravaged by injuries; 4. Some promising players from DS & u-18 maybe worth a look-in Do we not play our development / promising u-18 players in the remaining matches besides Bennie, Kolli and Morgan, some of whom were actually named on the bench recently? - Sutton (36) - Tuck (29) - Murphy (34) - Petrie (35) How about some numbered squad players that disappeared from the first team, what happened to their development? - Talla (30) - Salamon (32) - Aoraha (33) This is one period where we could use these players and see how they perform. What about Joe Walsh? - he never get a decent chance this season, again. I am guessing another wholesale summer clear-out?

I'm guessing they'll need oxygen by then Brian; saving them from themselves.

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 13:34 - Apr 17 with 1319 views | LongsufferingR | I always think back to our last game in the season we went down to L1 under Holloway. He played a bunch of kids at home to Stockport, we lost 3-0 and had a young player sent off. Not sure it benefitted anybody tbh and that was a meaningless game.

https://www.11v11.com/matches/queens-park-rangers-v-stockport-county-28-april-20 Starting xi was relatively strong (well, Christer fkin Warren...) but three youth players came on second half with Cochrane being sent off.

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 12:19 - Apr 17 by Northernr | On this point, I thought so too but it seems to be different for non league. Luton have recalled Oli Lynch from Hemel today and there's some suggestion he's going to be on the bench for them tomorrow. Every day's a school day... |
I’m pretty sure that indeed it’s a bit more lax with non league to encourage sending youngsters out to learn their trade. That said, to the general point, of the youngsters, Aoraha is 22 now and in and out of the Ebbsfleet side bottom of the Conference - the broken leg seems to have cost him any momentum and he will surely go this summer. Petrie, Talla, Murphy are all aging out by Norris new edict also so presumably will go too. Tuck therefore seems to be the only one (with Sutton) worth giving a chance to, along with the Brazilian LB

What a day that way - still remember as a lad trying to work out with dad who this young lad they’d brought on was, checking the programme for this name, only to see ‘oh, he’s been sent off…’ | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 11:34 - Apr 17 by daveB | I think you need a balance I wouldn't throw all the kids in and leave them to get a hiding but you could use some of them from the bench, maybe start a few up at Sunderland if they are good enough but you want to end the season with a few more wins, we've not won at home since february so would be nice to get at least one more home win |
This. Maybe just play the top three prospects in each match before the end. I want to see Walsh get a run too.

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 14:51 - Apr 17 with 1020 views | BAWHoops | I'm not sure in a season where we've seen Morgan, Kolli and Lloyd establish themselves as prominent members of the first team squad (for better or worse) we need to be screaming to play the kids. With our injuries and form the kids have had real opportunities to step up and these 3 have taken theirs. To have blooded 3 youth team players this season represents our best season for doing so in as long as I can remember. Plus Dembele, Morrison, Varane all 23 or under. Age profile of the squad is absolutely fine. Would like to see Sutton get a few minutes off the bench though

Me too. Nardy has been pretty good for us, particularly early in the season, but I think given the chance Walsh could be better.

Make that 4. Bennie too. It's easy to forget that this season Marti has already promoted 4 players from the Development Squad as well as bed in young signings Varane, Morrison and Dembele. That's quite a long list of young players already in and around the first team. Given this, I'd only experiment with the positions that need filling in the summer. For example, we could see what Esquerdinha is made of at LB. [Post edited 17 Apr 16:12]

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 12:48 - Apr 17 by Paddyhoops | If I thought Leeds wouldn’t go up as result of us playing Jude the Cat in goal against Burnley. I’d have to have a think about it . |
Do you really want to go to Leeds again next season, would be funny to see them struggle in the Prem
Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 16:54 - Apr 17 with 846 views | Bluce_Ree | This is a tough league. If you play the kids, they'll get massacred. Sure, bring one or two on where you can but don't be surprised if they eat shit.

Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 18:38 - Apr 17 with 706 views | benhurst | Would like to see Esquerdinha get some minutes, especially given that all of our other left backs won't be here next season, and a couple more games for Walsh and Bennie (would like to see him get some longer games like recently instead of just 10 minutes off the bench to run around a bit).
Playing the Yoof (and reserves) on 21:09 - Apr 17 with 581 views | derbyhoop | This season we've played Bennie, Morgan, Kolli, Lloyd, all from the DS. In addition we have Dembele, Saito, Varane, Morrison all under 23. Murphy, Talla and Sutton have all been on the bench. How many more youngsters do you want to throw to the lions in our last 4 games. Has anybody actually watched them playing for the DS, who are 10th in an 11 team league, and still think there's 4 or 5 ready to step up?
