Absolutely buzzing! I just love it when we win and even more so when it’s a last minute screamer. I really like Andersen’s style of play and have been really disappointed with his dip in form, so to see him grab the winner was fantastic. Having said that, I must give Frey his credit, also a lovely goal.

MOTM was Colback. A brilliant performance.

Madsen gets an honourable mention for his sublime first time ball to Min-Hyeok. A lovely bit of football.

Working yesterday, so the game was on in the background but cheered Freys equaliser for the very predicted 1-1. But whooped as loud as anyone when Anderson hit that 25 yard screamer in the corner.

Pleased for the team getting another 3pts but really pleased to see Marti push two up front and go for the result (had we had more fit strikers maybe it would be a tactic he might have tried before, though PNE looked very unlikely to counter us to be fair with their negative approach second half).

Great for all the away clan to see a win and last minute screamer.

It will be fascinating to see who starts on Monday. I think we will learn a lot from the selection and bench.

I’d like to see Frey and Kolli from the off, with Smyth and Paal starting too. Kolli on the left but with a free role to kick on and join Frey and drift into pockets.

Just blast them off the park and then add some fresh legs at 60mins to rotate some of the starters and prevent any unnecessary injuries.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Merely highlighting the fact how difficult we find it to win at home then away then at home then away. We have a tendency to follow up a good away win with a disappointing home display. Whilst we may be happy about today, it has still been a hard watch for much of the season.

I think it's pretty normal unless you're a top four team.

It's the first quarter of the season with so many players without Championship experience plus injuries to key players that killed us. The first twelve matches we got nine points - 0.75 PPG or 35 points across the season if we'd continued on that form.

Since then we're tracking 1.4 PPG - or 65 points across the season. Practically making the play offs which is remarkable given our budget and injury record this season. What it tells me is a) you need to get a blend of players in with youth and experience b) you have to keep players fit and c) you HAVE to start strongly.

Yes, very very good analysis.

But why are we seemingly unable to do a. b and c year after year ?

We are always scrambling around in August trying to complete the squad, have bare bones from January onwards and end up calling up kids

I get that good players leave but we need ready made replacements for them in all positions

This time next year, Rodney .....

In one of the post-match interviews there was mention of a formation change in, or at the start of the second half. Does anyone know what that was?

It was a little bit later on when Ashby went off for Frey. We went to 3 at the back with Dunne/Morrison/Edwards; Andersen described it as a 3-4-3, something like:

Dunne/Morrison/Edwards
Smyth/Varane/Colback/Paal
Andersen/Frey/Kolli

There was also a very strange period earlier in the second half where we had everyone attacking on the right side with no one on the left at all.

I don’t think this was a planned change in formation, more like an attempt to overload - or just simply Yang forgetting where he was meant to be playing.

It was like watching an under 11 game where you tell everyone to stay in formation but they all crowd around the ball regardless.

When we go to three at the back, Marti tends to telegraph it with the crossed hammer sign with his arms - like the fans of that massive club in East London.

A good post and injuries and injuries go a huge way to explaining our season.

What I do suspect (don’t have stats to back this up) is that we must be one of the most extreme teams in terms of form, going back to the Warbs era. Periods of ten games - or even half a season - of absolute horror either followed or preceded by brilliant runs.

Would be surprised if the form of many other teams have swung quite as violently as ours, but maybe I just don’t study rival teams closely enough

I think most clubs have similar peaks and troughs in form.

Eg Blackburn, unbeaten first seven games (neat WDWDWDW), then later six wins in a row followed by six defeats and just one win from the next nine and recently an eight game stretch that yielded only two points.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

The issue at QPR is when we come flying out of the blocks Nicole (1 time under Beale ) we still managed to slide all the way from top to bottom with our unrelenting long losing streaks year after year.
This year stings the most we were cut adrift then hit sublime form and rapidly moved the opposite way for once and touched the playoff spots .I cannot forget that loss at Coventry when the game should have been over and with a point it really cost us .
A drew there then we hammered Derby we might have got something at Portsmouth to set us up for a brutal March but we went the other way then folded like a cheap suit.
Teams are going to have thrilling wins and heartbreaking defeats but you have to stay consistant and avoid losing streaks to get to the playoffs in the Championship

Some fair points Pat. That Beale year though we didn't have players with the right stuff.

People complain about our signings this season but our loan players that season were Tyler Roberts, Laird, Iroebugnan and Jamal Lowe. Not really up for the fight. We also brought in Balogun, Chris Martin, EDB and frigging Taylor Richards. Most transfers with the Beale sticky fingers???. When Beale left they were disgruntled and downed any tools they'd bothered to pick up under him except Martin who knew where the goal was, tried hard but could neither run nor jump.

The only bright sides were Paal and JCS incoming.

Our midfield included Dozzell, Johansen, Amos, George Thomas and Willock playing on one leg. Up front we had MacCauley Bonne among our choices. Back up LB was Hamalainen and RB Kackay.

How we stayed up that season is a miracle in hindsight.

So, most on the Easter Bunny match thread do not want many men cut, I'll echo that.
