It’s very quiet on here considering Dale have a very important home game kicking off in just over 3 hours time.

Hoping for the perfect Easter with a resounding home win and 3 points in the bag come 5pm.

Up the Dale

Hoping that there is no complacency and we continue with our more direct aggressive style of late.

Fourth or fifth place would boost our play off prospects.

It would be great if Kairo could score to-day as this would be a confidence booster.

I hope there is no ‘going down’ chants to the visiting fans.

They will already know, be fully aware, but will have travelled nonetheless to support their team. They should be recognised for their loyalty not pilloried.

Agreed. There is too much of a "banter" culture nowadays in football and ridiculing other teams for "the number of fans" or "you only won because of this" First priority should be backing our team, singing songs about our players to get them over the line for the play offs Rather than spending 90 minutes singing about the opposition or teams which aren't even there.

Also they will be playing for pride which can be a pretty big motivator.

Looking at their recent playing record they must have been pretty demoralised before this weekend?
I think they’ve lost six on the trot and scored one goal?

it's just not happening for our lot....some pretty passing but final ball/pass to find our strikers has been wanting. Young Corey doing well with Gilmour doing the Jonah role.

Keep at them and have a shot. Results going our way but need to look after ourselves first.

Not afraid to put his foot in either

Watching the first half and all this passing is getting nowhere and the front two of Mitchell and Rodney just dont seem to click...
Fylde seem happy to play disruptive tactics.
Rowling was being a bit petulant for his yellow card and needs to cut this out and just not let things bother him..
Barretts long punts dont seem to find a Dale player.

Poor first half against a team who offered almost nothing for 30 minutes but then had the games best chance. I'm afraid that Mitchell just isn't currently capable of playing first team football. Sadly, he weakens us as an attacking force. Will Jim see it or keep him on?
Big second half coming up..for the players and supporters alike.

C'mon Dale.

14 corners and not looked like scoring. Why don't we cross the ball, going central everytime.

Reiterates everything we've know all season. If the other team sit back with 10/11 behind the ball we simply haven't got the players to break them down consistently. If, as I fully expect, we make the Play-Offs we will face much better teams who will use the same tactic against us. Bird being fit gives us a chance.

The second half was better but we huffed and puffed. Great save by the keeper from Gilmour's shot. Most would have taken 4 points from 6 over the Easter weekend and a home playoff game is still in our hands.

Yep. The inability to make the opposition think by changing formation has costs us points all season long.

So poor that again today against a team that are already relegated.

Praying Bird is close to a return because with Mitchell we are playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch. Has there ever been a more underwhelming challenge for the play offs? Jim will say the usual crap about controlling the game and respecting the point. He'll probably say there are more things important than football - with the Joe Thompson tributes - and yes he is right. But by god that was dull to watch today.

Today was a microcosm of our season. The players are sent out with fear and told to be cautious at all times. The result is a boring game where the opposition gain a degree of confidence against our all too predictable play. It won't ever increase the fanbase.

Ever? 08/09 we stumbled into the playoffs with an awful run, one win in the eight.

With so many teams out of form, those in places 4-7 won’t have a chance on paper. Southend would still be the wildcard for me.

Mitchell had a chance today, his selection made sense after Henderson has started so frequently allied to how well the no.9 has done against Fylde. Not only did he not take that chance, he managed to reinforce how crucial Henderson will be for the remainder of the season. A totally baffling display.

“at all times”

Criticism has to be factual. Were they told to be cautious in the previous two games?

If not, that is not “at all times”.

Where the manager fell short today was his inability to effect change when the oppositions were more than happy to sit in deep. That is a factual season long failing.

Oh and Adu Poku played on both wings today. And was just as ineffectual on either side. Edit edit.

I was actually sat watching that looking at the league table and the possible upcoming playoffs and thinking this has to be THE most uninspiring end to any season considering our league position ive ever felt.

Could do with Craig Dawson and Chris O'Grady signing for us next season.
