Swansea Reflection 17:56 - Apr 21 with 5419 views | bluenwhite10 | Disappointing performance by Rangers today. The game was lost in the 1st 70 minutes due to the lack of urgency, effort, spark, fight against a side who fairness had a go. Swansea where full of shithousery today and played that well today with the time wasting, the nudges in the back, the fake head injuries etc…, The referee was very poor today with some very strange decisions and seemed to let a lot go which opened the doors to all of the above, but that is no excuses for the poor performance and if my memory serves me well only 1 shot on target, but I guess Swansea only had two. Poor performances from Dunne, Fox, Anderson, Yang, Kolli, The changes did spark a reaction and fine ball from Madsen. Would have liked to see a system change instead of a personnel change today as something different was needed as the game went on. Varanne a massive miss today for 2 reason a) quality player b It took Edwards out of the back 4 and put Fox in. Least nothing was riding on the game MOM at a push Colback/ Morrison
Swansea Reflection on 18:10 - Apr 21 with 3767 views | Lanhoop | The highlight for me was the ref giving them a free kick for their keeper jumping over their defender and both of them pretending to be injured. A fine piece of work from the tvvat.
Swansea Reflection on 18:22 - Apr 21 with 3680 views | Logman | I thought Kolli was quite good. He had a thankless task and none of the 3 attacking midfielders made it easy for him. Yang didn't seem interested and was standing around at times, Madsen won't take a defender on and Andersen didn't really make any great inroads. I felt we should have started Frey and Kolli and foregone Andersen, or Yang. Colback was pretty good again. He was still getting all over the park after 98 minutes just 4 days after doing the same against Preston. I will leave it to the sports scientists but he might be good for one more year. Swansea Reflection on 18:32 - Apr 21 with 3588 views | Wegerles_Stairs | A game like today makes you realise how much work we need to be decent next season. Yes, we have injuries, but we were passive, slow and second best most of the game. Need pace and power. Let them enjoy their win - they'll be back to being shit again when it really matters.

Yes, the level of officialdom at this level never ceases to amaze me. That decision was particularly mental as the keeper caught the ball - that was it! No contact with our players; just caught the ball and then landed on the floor. Where on earth do they find them?
Swansea Reflection on 18:54 - Apr 21 with 3416 views | Andybrat | Pointed out to me how many of the starting 11 were either not ours or close to out of contract. Dunne, Fox, Ashby, Yang, Anderson, Colback, Edwards Add subs, Paal, Frey Dead rubber in so many ways
Swansea Reflection on 19:09 - Apr 21 with 3277 views | baz_qpr | We were really disjointed for 70 minutes. it was only once we got Dembele and Sutton on that we had had both balance and pace. We looked like were really thrown by the late Varane change, Edwards and Varane in that team and we dont concede and go in at half time 0-0. Fox absolutely terrible. Ronnie had his worst game for us in midfield and we had no escape from their press. Was surprised he did not switch Kolli to left Yang up top Anderson right and Madson into the middle. As soon as we had pace we were back in the game. Ref was unbelievably bad for both teams!

Sutton did OK. He got involved in some OK link-up play. He doesn't look quite ready yet I would say to dominate. Chair did quite well. He put himself about and didn't look rusty. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Swansea Reflection on 20:12 - Apr 21 with 2923 views | WokingR | That ref was a complete knob today. Every single decision was based on the result, rather than the action. If someone looked hurt, it must have been a foul. If no injury, then it couldn’t possibly have been a foul.
Swansea Reflection on 20:14 - Apr 21 with 2897 views | Pikey | I think we learned that Yang has no Ying Kohli is not as good as his dad thinks he is And Marti doesnt have a plan B. Hopefully next year we give kelman a decent chance and maybe play him up front with Frey or Celar.

Varane had tightness in his hammy in warm-up that he couldn't run off, according to Marti. Sutton looked lively but couldn't make much impact. Chair seemed OK, added to our improved play late on.
Swansea Reflection on 20:28 - Apr 21 with 2771 views | VancouverHoop | Marti doesnt have a plan B. In the post-match presser he repeated that this has been the most difficult season of his career. He also said that injuries have been a big — maybe the biggest — reason for that. He implied that, post-season, there will be an internal review as to why this has been the case.
Swansea Reflection on 22:22 - Apr 21 with 2400 views | Paddyhoops | Too narrow today . No width whatsoever. Whoever is in charge of transfers. Get somebody in with genuine pace . This side is pedestrian at times. BOS was the last one here with jets on .

Managers very rarely blame themselves for anything.

Swansea Reflection on 22:32 - Apr 21 with 2304 views | Lblock | I think at this level it’s always advisable to start with 11 players rather than 8 and a half If you added up Ashby, Anderson and Madsen together you’d possibly, possibly get half a player. My other reflection is that Yang hasn’t got a defensive bone in his body Quite like him going forward but if he’s going to be in the side it needs to be set up accordingly I was surprised Frey didn’t start but Kolli did okay at a thankless task Classic refereeing The one where Yang gets a foot in the chest and the fella who did it goes to ground and screams so ref gives him a free kick a particular low point All eyes on Lootown and Cardiv now it’s the only entertainment left

Sutton looked a way off physically, but wanted the ball and made a couple of lovely runs, one of which was a touch away from a goal. Shows the levels though between youth and first team. Chair looked fine I thought, although it was a bit disjointed the last 15mins

First team players unfit/unavailable to start just todays game: JCS, Cook, Paal, Field, Varane, Smyth, Saito, Chair, Frey, Lloyd, Celar. We also had another non-contact muscle injury. Marti's plan B has been starting games for most of this season.

This season has topped injuries incurred by a long long way. Many happening in between games, in training, today in the warm up, perhaps even dismounting from the team bus. And so often, it's to key players and they have months out and so often have setbacks in their rehabilitation Mr Nourry sack this bloke running the fitness department from his sunbed by the pool in Dubai. Blokes having a laugh. Don't fall for any claptrap about loading. Big words and new methodologies mean nothing if the results are so dire !!!

This, all day long. Seriously don't understand what some people expect.... team has been pulled together from DS team, youth, loan signings and various players returning early from injuries.

He also got himself into what would have been a good position on his own from a throw in right by the penalty area but Fox didn't see him.
Swansea Reflection on 00:00 - Apr 22 with 1919 views | TomS | We learned a long time ago that the squad doesn't have strength in depth, so why are people surprised that results fall off when key players are injured? Marti has done a remarkable job to keep the club in the Championship once again.

He certainly hasn’t done a ‘remarkable’ job. He’s done ok in the circumstances of all the injuries but I’m sure he would admit himself results overall have been disappointing.
Swansea Reflection on 01:12 - Apr 22 with 1794 views | nix | I don't think you can judge Marti's results without the context of injuries and the squad he's inherited. We've got the 20th lowest budget in the Championship and have been without two of our best players for most of the season as well as shed loads of other injuries. Yet we've got the same number of points as Norwich who've got reportedly nearly twice our wage bill, have Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent in their team who've collectively scored 32 goals and spent over £30 million in transfers this season.
Swansea Reflection on 01:28 - Apr 22 with 1770 views | simmo | When you look at some of the 11's we've had to start or end games with this season, I don't think remarkable is an exaggeration. Those missing just today would represent 8 or 9 starters, yet we were still competitive. I think we can concede that there's been a few times this season Marti was probing ideals over pragmatism which might have cost us, and similarly is guilty of slow changes like any manager, but we've had no decent striker all season - fit or not - but this is also the year we've shared goals around more than any other. I personally think the difference between us and Sheff Wens over the bottom 6/7 this season are very good managers, nothing else. [Post edited 22 Apr 15:05]
