Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 00:46 - Apr 26 with 3966 views | qprewan | Brilliant piece Clive. Totally agree with everything you say about Jimmy Dunne, players like this don't come around very often and imo the club should be busting a gut to keep him. They should also be doing the same with our manager. I'm not going to the Burnly game unfortunately but I have total faith in our fans to sing Marti's name throughout and let Nourry know exactly how we feel.
Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 04:27 - Apr 26 with 3754 views | PlanetHonneywood | As with most things: its not Kim Jung that's the problem per se, its the thinking that hiring an unknown, untested, and questionable 26 year old pup into such a position was the thing to do! As with everything at QPR since August 2011, all our problems start and end at the top!

Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 08:08 - Apr 26 with 3320 views | thehat | Thank you Clive - Great article as always. Also love Jimmy Dunne and hope he stays but think he may move due to financial reasons. I also think Marti will stay too. All managers have disagreements with their CEO'S and Nourry isn't silly. He will know the Dubai situation hasn't worked and I'm sure he will change it. They will work it out I'm sure. Anyway for one last time (for me) - Come on you R'rrs
Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 08:25 - Apr 26 with 3247 views | mart_Goblin | “so as we come to the end of year one of Sky’s latest three-year broadcast deal with yet another 12.30 kick off at Loftus Road let’s crunch the numbers on just how much it’s wrecked weekends for people who are involved with kids football/need to get ten pints in them before they can stand to watch our goal kick routines.” Brilliant Clive . This made me belly laugh because it’s true. I don’t drink anymore really but sometimes I wish I did . As you say, make your voice heard today . It matters , even if the match doesn’t .

I think I’ll be more disappointed if (when) he leaves than Marti. The ‘Mummy and Daddy getting divorced’ analogy is spot on and hilarious. [Post edited 26 Apr 9:08]

Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 10:42 - Apr 26 with 2570 views | BostonR | As always you are spot-on. Brilliant article. I’d love for Dunne to stay but given his form he has surely had offers from other clubs that will make him financially comfortable and who would begrudge him that kind of move? Surely, Nourry also knows that if you allow him to move that relegation door gets closer. My family are attending the game and they are planning to get right behind Marti.

If I was Dunne - great player for us, but he deserves a better club We are still going absolutely nowhere. We need to be looking at mid table to playoffs next season minimum but we seem further away from this currently than we have ever been in recent seasons even

From what I saw today against Burnley, Dunne and QPR are a good fit.
Dunne in The Sun – Preview on 21:05 - Apr 26 with 1491 views | GaryBannister86 | Well you were spot on Clive about the difference between the message board and the paying Loftus Road faithful. Personally, could barely be bothered to look at Ashby when he was subbed, after his extremely ordinary loan spell, yet others see it differently and were getting signatures and asking for selfies. I wish I could be that relaxed about my support of QPR, to be honest, then they probably wouldn't give me the hump as much as they do. We all paid to watch that utter slop, those who stayed were treated to the shambles of Burnley celebrating on our pitch for far too long, then the tone deaf DJ playing Silver Lining without a hint of irony, and watching our players (and families - of course the families) trapse around the pitch to give some half-hearted applause. What joy. Did enjoy seeing Harvey Vale clapping the fans - erm wasn't sure what to clap him for. Signing? Good signature, son, well done. However, was worth it to get the mouthed thankyou from Marti though. His quotes about the fans tonight were really lovely. What a gent, will really miss him if he goes. On a final note, totally against my distaste of loans, but really agreed with Edwards' standing ovation. If nothing else he stopped Burnley getting 8 today, but generally for commitment and class that is definitely as impressive a loan spell I've seen since Walker. Fair dos. [Post edited 26 Apr 21:15]

Good post . I think the signatures Ashby was signing as he was walking round after being subbed were almost exclusively for kids so he’s a bit damned if he does / damned if he doesn’t to be fair . If he ignores them all, then you’ll have people barking on here that this flash git can’t even sign a few autographs for the youngsters . However I was taken a back by the large applause that followed him round the ground …to the point where I found myself clapping along with most of the people around me . What are we applauding this guy for people ? Half a dozen ok performances in amongst the gash? Agree with everything else , especially Edwards . Stopped it being 8 or 9 and he wasn’t at his best today either . Saw him outside after and couldn’t believe how young he looks . He’s a f*cking kid!. Good luck to him . He’ll be top class player I have no doubt .

Oh yeah - don't get me wrong, no issue with Ashby's behaviour as he came off, thought he conducted himself well, actually. Just thought it hammered home Clive's point in the preview that the vast majority of paying punters trot along perfectly happy every week and don't find it quite the agonising be-all and end-all that a few others do. I know they are the healthier ones. It was exactly the same last home game under Ainsworth, I thought most would be giving the pathetic loanees a piece of their mind - they were actually more interested in getting their shirt or a photo or giving them a clap. Not in a million years saying they are wrong and I am right, just a real reminder that most people follow the club in a sane way :-)

Ha ha . Totally get your point . I said earlier in the season after we lost at home to Portsmouth, that I stood outside the Forever R’s bar at the full time whistle and watched the loft end empty ..in near silence , no moaning , no grumbling , no one showing any dissatisfaction…just the walking dead …marching in unison back to wherever…home /train station/ pub etc. I’m not sure what’s wrong or right . Do we want anarchy and huge discontent or do we want our fan base in general to lay in the corner and take the punishment like a beaten dog ? I don’t know what the right answer is but I get more and more surprised at the level of what is accepted by the home match going fans at the moment . It’s just numb (in the main) to being beaten 5-0 at home ..and not just beaten , toyed with and tormented like a cat playing with a mouse. I was embarrassed and infuriated yesterday but even I didn’t particularly show it . So maybe I’m to blame as anyone else and a lot of people are like that . Unfortunately, Marti or no Marti , maybe it’s a good thing if we start showing our discontent ? Something needs to change here or we are sleepwalking peacefully into the divisions below . I think it's an interesting point and Clive has hinted at it in various reports. I don't think there is anything like the collective urge to push against the tide that there used to be. Either the crowd has changed, or there is now much more of a thought that QPR should know their place and be happy with it. I said the same to my son on the way out - 20/30 years ago people would have been ripping the seats out if we had lost 0-5 at home. Even in a dead rubber! Like you say - I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe it's an age thing - people of our vintage still can't quite believe we are the lowest club in the whole of West London or teams like Palace reaching the cup finals that we should have done in our glory. Maybe we are just bitter and the younger lot want to cheer us on = good thing :-)

It could well be that, yes. You make a great point about our standing in West London for example . I’m the same as you and can’t believe that we are even behind at least 2 of the others …and not just behind , years and years and years behind . But maybe it’s not what’s important to the younger generation and as you say maybe that’s a good thing ? Maybe other things are more important than football , which of course is ultimately true . But at the moment , the people held accountable have either f*ched off back to where they came from , or not being held accountable by a passive, beaten down fanbase. Thats not right to me

Great debate. Speaking personally, every time I want the awful owners out I remember our awful financial situation and I back off. I can't be the only one whose cough is softened by the finances?

Yes, that was definitely me as well, Brian. Would rather have a club to moan about than none at all. But if they back Nourry ahead of Marti (or more like, don't bother to do anything about it) then I have run out of final straws. I think they are honest, likeable people so not advocating protests - more like a polite joint request to possibly take a little more interest, perhaps make some better decisions or please find someone to sell to? I know our financial situation, but in this day and age there are plenty of mega rich around who want to get into English football. We are hardly that unattractive a proposition being in West London, owning own ground and training ground, one promotion away from their golden ticket, are we? I also think, though, better the devil you know. A la Reading, etc etc. I dunno. I want some rich, kindly genius capable of making good decisions and actually being there every week and having it as a priority. Not much to ask, I know! [Post edited 27 Apr 10:31]

It’s a great point Brian and something we shouldn’t take for granted . But we shouldn’t be held to ransom by it either . It is a tricky one and perhaps the fan base , which is an intelligent one , a fact that should be considered more by the CEO/ Chairman/ board, feels trapped by knowing our financial situation and constraints , just as you say that’s how you both feel. Totally understandable.

Only going on what my kids (grown up but still relatively young) say, but there do seem to be a lot of younger fans who have decided that following a team below Prem Level (not just Championship, down to National League level) is both more affordable and more enjoyable...and part of that is that it's all about the day out / camaraderie / drinking / chanting etc..so you support your team in that way, while probably thinking, we might lose a big chunk of this enjoyment (and especially the relative affordability) if we re-enter the so-called promised land. Can't remember which one of our occasional Bees guests it was who's said a few times that he's tiring of the sanitised, expensive Prem experience where for a club like them (and let's face it, us if we were ever to get back), it's all about survival, and midtable is sold as nirvana for such plucky underdogs. Purely from a fan perspective, the regular sold out or close to it home games and 'best ever' away support has been the highlight of the season for me.
